General Comments:

Food package was excellent, lovely lake but really hard fishing. John was very helpful and feel sorry for him cause he felt bad that we didnt catch. The lake has alot of potential and with some time and effort in making the swims better this lake could be something special. Unfortunately mark wasnt helpful, only saw him for 20mins on the first day with a breif tour then another 10mins to show us a rig he uses but proved to be no good.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Spinner D rig hinged stiff on running leads with back leads, bait mainline hybrid and Villefond particle mix. Light loose feed boilies onto a large area then tighten up spot once fish are feeding. Pre bait margin spots for a few days with particle then introduce boilies after again once fish are feeding on the spot. Alternate rigs to keep fish guessing, these fish are rig shy and soon wise up to a method. Keep a eye out for feeding fish during the day (fizzing) and try out new areas if not catching on a spot. *stick to spots once catching. Lightly feed at first.

Yes. Amazing venue, amazing owners and everything that you do to help people put fish on the bank and the time and care you spend with everyone which I have never had anywhere else I’ve ever been, that’s why we keep coming back to you guys, and I will continue to come back. Also that the fish are in great condition, well looked after and have amazing fish care. And the food that you guys provide is out of this world. I would also recommend The venue to anyone 🎣🎣🎣🎣

General Comments:

The food package was excellent, Villefond is a beautiful lake surrounded by trees and wildlife, it is very peaceful and tranquil in a picturesque part of France, more than worth the drive. Lee Clifford... what a week..venue and top bunch of guys to go fishing with, had a great time and already wishing I was back

Up to you, all fish caught was on maggot except the the sturgeon which was luncheon meat

Yes as expected all good great shower and charging points in main cabin/toilet All the swims need sorting as you are very high above the water level need to to be lowered Debbie and John are amazing really good food and loads of it couldn't do enough for us. Shame the bailiff had no interest in us .

Were you happy with them?

Food amazing delivery and friendliness was excellent, shame the bailIff was not

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

No we would not, we met the the bailiff on the Saturday when we arrived and had a whirl wind tour of the lake and never saw him again until Thursday afternoon no interest in us what so ever.

Will book again through you guys outstanding service and friendly and great price but not this lake

General Comments:

*Angling Lines note* Both Mark and John are bailiffs on the venue. There was no disinterest, unfortunately Mark was working away for some of the week, however John was down at the lake every day. We are sorry you felt that not enough interest was shown and we do urge anglers also to let Mark or John know if they have any queries whilst at the lake - they are very happy to help.

Details of your catches:

I had 4 fish in the first four days, (44.08 m) (27lb c ) big sturgeon at (63.08 lb), peg 8.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I used a pop of corn on mainline cell, a free running lead system (3 oz lead) and see through silicon boom. Lead camouflaged as gravel. There is a thing at Villefond called the 'Villefond three beeps '- These carp are very clever, they mouth it a little bit then a bit more and if they feel anything at all they drop it . In order to combat that I used a size 8 hook ( smaller than i'd normally use and also added maize and sweetcorn on the hair down to the hook. I used single baits and catapulted a few around. they don't seem to respond to heavy baiting here. Arnold came out to another of the group on handmade onion boilies. We think it was a record but the angler who caught it had only 60lb scales and he's normally in the high 70's. So unfortunately we didn't get the exact weight.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. Good. We had an issue one or two days but the batteries were charged up at the house and John made a special trip down to make sure I had a charger for my phone. They could not do enough for us and those special little kindnesses meant a lot!

Were you happy with them?

Yes, the guys at Villefond are the best! Food was great too and always arrived bang on time. Highly recommended.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, definitely. You can't sit back and not fish, it needs some thought and effort but I was very happy. The sounds and visuals of amazing nature are all around the lake. Its well worth stopping & breathing it all in. It gives a real sense of well being. Top marks.
