We used small baits (sweetcorn and boile chops) over, firstly, particle, but changed to just hemp when we decided the fish weren't really feeding heavily.

Facilities were all good with no complaints.

General Comments:

Villefond is a tricky venue and with high pressure and low water levels, we were always going to find it difficult. The fish weren't really feeding that strongly during the week, so we were happy with the ones we managed to trick. Huge thanks to owners, John and Debbie for their help with charging batteries etc. and to Mark for his insights into the rigs that he uses (and which we used to catch some of the fish) on this lovely but tricky lake. Probably one of the most peaceful venues I have ever visited...we'll be back to catch the bigger ones that reside there asap!

General Comments:

Villefond is a family run venue and it shows, the banks pegs are spotless the facilities are excellent and again spotless. We had evening meals only, good quality hot meals were delivered to the pegs our only complaint with these excellent meals was there was just too much!

Mark, the owners son, is a dedicated angling technician, he has a great understanding of how this tricky water responds to the prevailing conditions and was happy to spend time with us to help us get a result.

In addition to the excellent Carp we caught we had the privilege of seeing a true colossus.

We witnessed fellow guest angler Mark catch a 65lb hulk, yes it was long and deep but the width of this creature just had to be seen to be believed. Massive credit to the skill and determination of Mark, on a difficult week, on a tricky water he topped an already impressive catch with this 65lb beauty.
