Details of your catches:

We had approx 35 fish to 26 4 (a mirror), with several commons around the 25 pound mark. The weather was not good for fishing with temperatures reaching 36 degrees! On the Friday the weather changed and we had 15 fish that day

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Heavy baiting with boilies (special crab)and pellets was successful. We had a lot of fish from straight out in front of the lodge at around 70 yds, and, next to the willow tree on the dam wall. We did not fish any nights. No special rigs are needed at Vincons and simple tactics worked well, however fishing paste over the boilies on the hair was very successful and produced a lot of the takes.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities at the cottage were very good, couldn't fault it - even a dishwasher and washing machine. The lodge was perfect for our teenage boys and had everything they could need. The bonus of a lovely pool was great, it made it more of a family holiday rather than just a fishing one.

Were you happy with them?

The Bouchot family were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

General Comments:

Vincons is a great venue for a combined fishing / family holiday with loads of fish to be had. If the venue had a few bigger fish in it it would be an incredible venue!

Details of your catches:

Not the best conditions and less "runs" than we had hoped for. The fish seemed to be late spawning or just not feeding, but having said that we did all catch some better than others Bait boats at long distance seemed to be the best method

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Long distance feeding via bait boat from under the trees turn right out of lodge, about 25 yds along.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, better in fact, our second visit so we new what to expect

Were you happy with them?

Yes, the Bouchard Family really went out of their way to be helpful, welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. Considering they were in the middle of harvest they still found the time to talk and ask us if we needed any assistance or help.

Yes Every fisherman should visit Vincons at least once to show what a well run lake should be like. The fish are in 1st class condition and fight well the common carp are outstanding and can be up to 50% of catches.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes of course, without any hesitation.

General Comments:

Over all a perfect lake and accomodation. The nicest owners you could ever wish for.

Details of your catches:

About 10 fish each a day (only fishing for about 6 hours and no night fishing). Average 17-18lb with best fish of 28lb common, 26lb common, 26lb common, 25lb mirror, 25lb mirror, 24lb mirror. No thirties but the fishing was fantastic. Also lots of 2-3lb carp which fight exceedingly hard.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Tactics were Rajha Spice boilies with a stringer/ pva bag. But my friend was catching on single hook baits. We also had a few stalking on the surface. Anything will catch. It was very difficult to get 3 rods in the water. The tree line is very productive but due to the water being about 2ft deep the fish are not given a chance to fight which takes away the fun. For this reason we mainly fished the dam wall at about 60 yards. The fish are everywhere.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yep facilities were superb. My family loved the cottage and my friend and I were fine in the lodge- no problems at all.

Were you happy with them?

Yep, thanks again to Alice - a very enjoyable week

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes absolutely - A great place to take the family for a relaxing week and easy fishing, but if you're after monsters and prefer to be surrounded by 50 other carp anglers then this place is not for you.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Definitely, Bridget was incredibly helpful and Angling lines directions were very useful.

General Comments:

Definitely the place to go for a bend in the rod. What we also found is that pictures are tough given the fish not giving up on the bank at all. Alice and her family were fantastic and Vincons really is in a beautiful part of the world. Great place to take the family; we will definitely be returning.
