Details of your catches:

Party of 4 anglers had 6/7 fish each biggest 34lb common, lots of other 30lb+ and 20's also has the sturgeon at 40lb crazy fish.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

fished boilies over pellets/particle base. Most of runs came at night and the fish were spawning but managed to get some :-)

Basic facilities which is all we needed and the freezer was a bonus for bait and food. Lovely venues this is our second visit and we will be back again.

Water levels were up & fishing was very slow biggest 38lb and only 15 carp between us. 8 sturgeon inc 2 thirties and 2 40's. We had a 41lb & a 30lb grass carp and a thirty pound mirror.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Tried most things. particles and high viz boilies worked best

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, based on previous years visit only

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes. it wasn't their fault fishing was slow.

General Comments:

It was disappointing over all but that's fishing, high water levels and a couple of swims were un-fishable because of that.

Water levels were up by about 2 feet, made landing fish tricky, an excellent venue for chilling out while catching some realy nice fish

Details of your catches:

Our trip produced 32 carp (mirrors, common, grass) ranging from 14lbs to 38 lbs (the largest was a 38 lb grass) 3 sturgeon, largest 37lbs, 5 bream and on swim 4 there were definitely crayfish (they kept eating right up to the hook).

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Most fish were caught on sweet flavoured boilies and imitation/pop ups. Fish were mostly caught evening to early am – daytime the occasional fish.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Again the facilities were no different from last year in the shower/small toilet area but it was very welcome to have the additional space where the fridge and freezer are, it allowed wet gear to be hung up and boy did we have some rain.

General Comments:

We met I think all the family including papa. Sadly because of the volume of rain France must have been experiencing recently Swim 3 was unfishable, the “platform” that was there last year had disappeared as had most of the steps leading down into the lake at other swims. Swim 9 was also unfishable because of the water level. What would be good for this lake is for the waterline to be edged with tree shuttering and then swims created and backfilled. The mud was definitely a problem. We did have a good week other than the weather and it is a place we would recommend to other anglers. We did experience quite a bit of a delay on the return Eurotunnel – excuse “volume of traffic”, nearly as bad as “the wrong leaves on the line” that British Rail use often.
