Very slow week as a lot of fish came out the previous week and due to cold nights and hot days early in the season. We all enjoyed the week and are going back next year. 23 carp landed with catching 14 of them and catching the two biggest at 46lbs common and 47lbs mirror, also two big sturgeon at 83lbs and 103lbs.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Shower needs to be updated as if you're second for the shower it’s cold so an electric one would be better.

The toilet cubicle is way too small no room to move but both very clean and well looked after.

General Comments:

Very nice venue, nice fish, only thing that is disappointing is there is no boat for snagged fish and you may need one in a couple of the swims, the sturgeon are a problem if you are fishing for carp so no need for them.

The shower needs to be better as is takes time to get hot after someone has used it so you may have a cold shower, toilet is too small.

General Comments:

This lake has the potential to be very good, it has lots of fish, some small so caters better for anglers just waiting to catch rather than size of fish. Better if the sturgeon were taken out as they are a problem. All in all a great enjoyable place to go

Snow men, singles, wafters all worked just not big beds and well spread. They have got used to bait boat piles!

General Comments:

This is our second trip to Blue Lake 4 years apart, the fish are getting bigger but a lot wiser. A good venue, hard fighting fish, they do move about so don't just sit there, move ;) And the size of the sturgeon you need a boat to get them in, both big sturgeon had old rig in them and trailing line!!! They are massive .
