General Comments:

Very good week, heavy baiting in the day, bait up after every fish. Snowman rig over maize

Details of your catches:

we all had a good week catching carp and strugeon (and the odd slime bream). Drew had a beast of a sturgeon well over 7ft, David broke his pb with a stunning mirror of 52lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Tactics, don't think it mattered if the fish were in front of you you caught. Beds of fishy pellet boilie over top work for the sturgeon, there were 8 anglers on our week, each group was on a different bait and everyone caught

Were the facilities what you expected?

Normal with most lakes I fished in France, toilet shower, had bonus of freezer and fridge plus power points to charge battery etc if u wanted

Were you happy with them?

Toilet was a bit tight, my knees was touching the door when closed but clean and worked, same with shower bit tight again clean and hot (could have done with a mixer tap so u could vary water temp as said water was hot but when weather is hot I prefer a cool shower but that could just be me)

Yer for sure, being our first time you're unsure what lake like but it was as described

That is a no brainer, one of the best services i've booked with and I normally do 2 to 3 trips to France a year

General Comments:

Nice place, swims could do with a bit of work and the shock lead ban could be looked at, the bars and boulders just cut u off shock leaders but with running leads not safety clips (people still push the sleeve on far too tight so the lead no way coming off) we had more than a few fish with rigs leads and line attached.

Bottom baits (Tiger nuts) (Boilie) (Fake Corn) presented on a German rig (Using FlouroCarbon) hook links. Caught over a large bed of bait (Corn, Boilies and a few Tigers)

Yes, they were ok. Simple but did the trick.

Yes, Ciril and David were very friendly and always making sure you were ok and happy.

Angling lines has always been good to me, great service as always. The ladies in the office are always on top of things they are very helpful and friendly.

General Comments:

Blue lakes is a wonderful venue. Stunning old gravel pit! I would love to come back but since the change in amount of anglers on per week has increased to 10 from 8. I would be reluctant. The lake has a lot of water to fish but some swims are really limited. Peg 9 gets cut off by pegs 10 and 8. Peg 4 is more like a good stalking peg. A person really needs to be able to move on a lake like this.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Loads of bait as I went threw over 100 kilos of bait. Mainly Carp Crazy shop bait RL1 plus maize and tigers.

Find 3 spots you're happy with and put out 5 kilos of bait per rod to begin with and then sit back and wait for the action to begin. Don't chase the fish round the lake as they'll come to your feed.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. Basic but did the job

Were you happy with them?

Yes apart from the stupid sized toilet and shower. If your taking your wife then beware as there is no lock/bolt on the shower door.

Yes but if there's more than 8 people fishing I'd look elsewhere

General Comments:

I Fishes Blue Lake with another 7 anglers and really enjoyed it apart from the amount of Grass carp which were a pain at times.
The margins and bars are really severe and I caught a few fish towing rigs so maybe a leader would be the safer option but rules state otherwise.

When I fished only 1 pair fished together on the same peg so there were 6 other anglers on single pegs leaving only 3 spare pegs which included pegs 4 and 9 which you wouldn't want to spend a week in at all as they shouldn't be classed as pegs as you're really hemmed in.

If this lake was for 8 anglers only then I'd defiantly return but as it's for 10 then I would look elsewhere as if all anglers fish as singles then someone would have to fish in either 4 or 9 which believe me should not be classed as swims. A days stalking yes but not for a week.
