I didn’t fish through the night and missed 2 days of fishing as we went Disney Land mid-week. So I could have easily tripled the catch rate. It was more of a family holiday so I was happy just to be catching one a day. It’s a great venue!

Wafters on a D-rig worked for me using S7 wafters and the house tiger nut wafters.

General Comments:

Wow, wow, wow! We stayed at Cerises for a week with a little trip to Disneyland mid-week. On arrival we were greeted by Carla, provided with tips, a tour of the lodge and we were made to feel very welcome. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable throughout our stay. The lake was absolutely beautiful with plenty of fish to be caught. The wildlife was plentiful, the resident sheep (especially Raoul) and geese were always around to keep us entertained. Our daily trips to the chicken pen to collect the eggs was amazing, we felt relaxed, secure and able to enjoy a well deserved family holiday.

The little town Pacy sur Eure had everything we needed, with a beautiful cake shop, butchers and craft shop. As a family we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would 100% recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful family fishing holiday.

We would like to give a special thank you to Carla and Gerard for their hosting, they are both lovely humble people!

Pop ups because of the weed and snags fished to the far tree line. Plenty of freebait over the top worked a treat 👌

Were the facilities what you expected?

We absolutely loved the place ❤️. Me, my misses and 3 kids had the greatest time. The lake was lovely perfect size for one or two anglers. The lodge we stayed in was lovely, it had everything we needed in it. We couldn't of asked for better hosts, they are lovely people and happy to help with anything we needed ❤️

General Comments:

A little message to anglers. A strong snag leader is a must. You will lose most of what u hook without one. I had to go to the local fishing shop 20 minutes drive away to buy a 60 pound korda snag leader. Then I stopped getting cut offs.

Details of your catches:

27 fish in total, 16 carp Including 2 koi (biggest fish 37.4lb smallest fish 14lb), 4 Sturgeon (biggest 26lb), 6 bream, and a tench. Only two fish caught in the day in the whole week, but we only fished the daytime twice due to weather being too hot.

Tiger cream wafters, pink wafters, manilla wafters, their boilies and defo their particle worked well

Yes everything worked and clean

Yes. Fish the back swim as a lot of anglers fish the top swims with it being near the accommodation

General Comments:

Great venue, great fishing especially from dusk till dawn as weather was too hot in daytime, Carla and Gerard were helpful too if you needed anything they were always there to help

Details of your catches:

28 fish between us, carp, sturgeon and grass carp. Biggest fish of 43lb 8oz. 18lb was the smallest, we had 5 x30s, and also had 3 hard fighting sturgeon.
We lost about 12 fish in the snags, just not quick enough, so react fast to the alarm screaming off.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Tigernut wafters, house tigernut boilies with tigernut extract, snowman rigs worked well, as did single wafters, also the house ocean fish worked well

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes and more, the lodge was ideal, had everything we needed from bbq utensils to all the basics. The shower worked well, but as its solar heated its a warm shower in the early morning then by the evening you could have it very hot if needed. Towels supplied, beds were comfy and no issues with any of the accommodation

Were you happy with them?

Very happy, great base to socialise, bbq was ideal for cooking all our meals 😋

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes definitely, Carla and Gérard were so helpful, they messaged a few days prior to travelling to see if we needed anything and asked for rough time of arrival so they could meet us at the lake. They gave us great bait advice and honestly nothing was a problem for them to help you out when needed, from fishing, to meals out, places to visit, very helpful couple and cant wait to come back next year. We had lunch out with Gérard, we also had a lovely horse and carriage ride arranged by Carla and Gérard. They really are 2 very dedicated and hard working couple and this shows in the condition of the lake and the accommodation. We needed a bit more leader for our rods and Gérard sorted and delivered to our swim within 30 minutes of us asking where we could get more leader (legend).

General Comments:

Cerises is a beautiful lake, the accommodation is great, the fish were immaculate and a great range of weights. The lake is difficult up the top area to the right of the lodge, we used 40lb flurocarbon leader, and it held up the lake well, the carp on the top right swim go to the snaggy margins on a take. Zebra mussels are on a lot of the tree roots under water but the leader held up well. Our advice is sit on the rods and watch the rod tip as they hit and run in seconds, great fights to be had 👌💪
