General Comments:

I would recommend but not if your after breaking a PB fish average is quite small and from what I gathered I think there is only 1 50lber in the lake … correct me if I’m wrong?! Gerard and Carla are lovely and really helpful

Details of your catches:

18 carp landed, average around 30lb. 1 sturgeon, 1 pike (on boilie!), 1 koi (also quite a few large bream but they weren't a problem.)

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Snowman rig over a small bed of bait. (Boilie, Pellet and Particle mix).
The Bait can be bought from Carla and Gerrard, it is good quality and this seemed to work best.

I would DEFINITELY recommend using a 60LB flouro snag leader at 5m length due to the presence of freshwater mussels in some areas (Don't find out the hard way!) This improved the landing rate significantly for the second half of the week after a trip to the tackle shop in Evreux. We would've been looking at over 30 carp if we didn't make the mistake of using shorter 1m Flouro leaders. Also make sure you drop the lead on the take to keep the fish up in the water rather than head down towards the mussels.

Fish close (1m) to the trees and be ready for the rods to rip off!

Dusk - Dawn seemed to be the most active time, but we did have bites throughout the day with midday being the least active time as you'd expect with the 30 degree weather we had all week.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities are great. Lovely and clean, very comfortable.

General Comments:

Carla and Gerrard are really great people. Very friendly and helpful with lots of knowledge of the lake. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They took us to the local town to a lovely restaurant on our final night as we had packed away ready for the morning trip back to England, we enjoyed good food, drink and great company!
We will definitely be coming back to Cerises.
A Bientot, Carla and Gerrard.

Details of your catches:

The fishing was hard due to the weather, but we still managed a dozen carp to 38lb and a couple of high 20 sturgeon. Bream could be a bit of a nuisance.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Definitely had best results on house boilies and wafters / pop ups.
had a bag of party mix, but that seemed to draw the bream in so we gave that up.
best results on Ronnie or D-rig over a bed of crushed boilies / pellet

Were the facilities what you expected?

Great, no problem at all with either the solar power or using bottled water. Lovely to be able to BBQ right next to the dining table and within range of the rods

Were you happy with them?

Yes

At around 4 a.m. on Friday morning i took a fall and broke 3 ribs on the back of my mates chair. Gerard was brilliant. took me to the hospital and then came and picked me up several hours later. he went and picked up all my drugs from the pharmacy.
although you may think this would have put us off, we have already booked for 2027. (couldnt get in next year as fully booked)
Gerard and Carla were great hosts. their bait seems to do the business and works on an honesty box type basis. Take what you want and settle up at the end.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes, 4th time we've been and it is just trouble free.

General Comments:

A really attractive venue with a great little town within 4 miles. Sneaked off there a few times for a beer when the weather was too hot. Easy run from Calais and great hosts.
