Details of your catches:
39 fish over the course of the week…
- 5 bream, not sure they count ?
- 6 grass carp
- 3 sturgeon
- 25 carp. Biggest 49 4. Only one fish under 20 and that was a common/ koi. Most of the others were an even mix of 20’s and 30’s
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We were lucky with the weather as a couple of storms brought the carp on at night. Didn’t struggle with the snags or trees round the lake, just take a decent mono leader and to be honest we found it better fishing short of the snags out of the leaf debris and twigs on the bottom.
Caught on both boilies and tigers. Probably did slightly better on glugged bottom baits which didn’t take on any odours from the softer bottom. We put plenty of particles in and the fish definitely responded to re-baiting after any quieter periods.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gerard’s boilies or particle if you are tight for space.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Beyond what we expected.
It was my sons first full week in France so we wanted a base and shower etc. even though we slept in our bivvies.
The accommodation was spotless, had everything you could possibly want and a real credit to what Carla and Gerard have established. Angling Lines are lucky to have them as owners and to have Cerises on their books.
Were you happy with them?
100%. It was perfect.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Absolutely! We are already looking at dates to return next year, plenty more fish in there we haven’t caught!
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes. I’ve used Angling Lines for a very very long time, 100% reliable, great team and always willing to do everything to ensure your trip is a success.
General Comments:
We loved the lake and facilities. Carla and Gerard were wonderful hosts and really cared if we enjoyed our trip. The sheep and geese weren’t a problem at all and actually we looked forward to their visits.
The fish were a mix of shapes and sizes and I thought the sturgeon fought harder than catfish! Everything we caught was in really good condition and there are plenty in there that had the frame to become massive in the future.
Plus being so close to Calais made it an easy drive.
A wonderful weeks fishing with my son.

Details of your catches:
10 x carp
2 x Grass Carp
3 x Sturgeon
1 x Tench
15 x Bream….ewe!
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Heavy baiting with pellets and boilies
Were the facilities what you expected?
Oh yes - free WiFi (reached bivvy too) tv for the football - good hot shower and great freezer spaces.
Were you happy with them?
Very happy
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes for the amenities alone if you want a nice peaceful relaxing holiday. If it’s a serious fishing trip then not sure due to amount of bream caught and some of the heavy snags in the edges of the pegs.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes - Angling lines are very good and easy instructions.
General Comments:
Loved the trip with my lad and as was expected. The pond could do with a bit of pruning and removal of some dead trees and snags.
*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback, we will discuss points raised with the owners.

Details of your catches:
Around 25 carp in total, Carp fought really well. Smallest we had was 16 lb and quite a few between 16lbs to 23lb other catches included 30lb, 34lb and a 52lb carp.
I also caught the sturgeon @ 24lb 3 times!
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We did catch on boilies but felt the fish were quite shy on those. The best method was particle, corn or hemp and maize or tiger on the pop up.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Much better than expected, clean, & everything you need. Solar worked well. If you have had the lights on all night don't expect a hot shower at 8am but by 10am it will be plenty hot enough. You have to manage the electric a bit :-)
Were you happy with them?
Yes, very. We thought it was very good value. Everything you need is there but we bivvied, despite the cabin being there .
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
yes. Certainly recommend. Very good value,
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
yes, we've used Angling Lines before and are looking now to next year!
General Comments:
Owners really nice, couldn't do enough for us.

15 fish - 3 sturgeon all 22lb, 5 bream, 4 grass carp to 24lb, 3 carp to 52lb 8oz (biggest in lake)
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Tigernut or cheese boilies, snowman rig
Were the facilities what you expected?
Facilities where great, BBQ every night
Were you happy with them?
Very happy with facilities although the power could be hit and miss in the mornings (solar powered)
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes but would warn about the marginal snags and the ferocity of the sturgeon
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, messed Charlotte around alot over the last 18 months, but always came through for us and is extremely helpful
General Comments:
Carla & Gérard are fantastic hosts, really want you to enjoy your holiday as much as catching carp. Checked in daily with us and came for a chat most days. The koi stock pond was a nice surprise with some amazing looking fish in it. Will look to return in the future which is as big an endorsement as we can give
