Only 6 fish, this was due to a second spawning taking place.
15 and 20, mirror and common.
Same sturgeon 26lb twice.
Tench and a bream.

Most were caught on 18mm tiger nut cream.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were as expected. The beds were comfortable and the amenities were what you would expect, however there was no oven, this was in the second lodge. The shower was good and hot.

We were happy with the lodge and had a great time.

General Comments:

Gérard and Carla are great hosts and looked after us, they came and explained where everything was and told us to call if we needed anything. A very lovely couple and very passionate about their lake.

We had 13 fish out in the week, now I have a new pb of 31lb 4oz

Snowman, their own wafter, tigernut cream wafter with yellow pop up sat on top, had most of our fish out on this

Various tactics worked the big one fell to lake boilies some on wafters with particle and pellets

General Comments:

It was a hard week with temps being very high the week before, think we were lucky they didn’t spawn, rain midweek helped

3x mirror carp to 34.9 lb
2x common carp to 36.4 lb
1x Ghost carp
1x grass carp
3x sturgeon to 24.6 lb
2x Tench
1x Bream

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Best tactics seemed to be to find the margin drop off and fish at the bottom, as there are a lot of mussels and debris in the margins take a very strong fluorocarbon leader material 50lb worked! (Remember no braid or leadcore) for the sturgeon beds of bait in open water worked.

The facilities were great, clean and comfortable with a lovely decked area and bbq.

We were very happy with the facilities and the welcome that we received from Carla and Gerard who were extremely helpful!

General Comments:

Be prepared for the sheep to turn up at around 18.30 any un attended buckets will have the lids ripped off so be aware they seemed to move on after an hour , also if bivvying up at the top of the slope the steps are steep and can be slippery, the local town is 10 minutes away and has several supermarkets, and is well worth a visit.
