We had 33 fish 29 from. Swim 3 the biggest was a 53 lb 8 oz mirror we had 1 x 50, 5 x 40s, 10 x 30s, 10x20s and 7x doubles.

General Comments:

It was lovely to see Philippe again and great to be back at his lake he is a true gentleman. Also good to see Steffan another decent chap.

Details of your catches:

There were 3 in the group fishing. 1 in Swim 1 and 2 in swim . The week started slowly, but a near double take broke the alarm silence on Tuesday morning. Things picked up then with 11 fish caught over the week, 4 from Swim 1 and 7 from the 2 anglers in Swim 3. The largest was a majestic Common of 49 lbs.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Best tactics were yellow pop ups, double tigers or snowman rigs with a yellow pop up, fished close to the far margin.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were as expected and we bought the food package which was excellent and worth the money. Jean-Jacques is a legend and his food kept the group going during tough weather and slow fishing spells. The lodge for food is rustic and was a great communal space to dry off, eat and talk tactics. Plenty of room to charge batteries and there is a UK plug extension. The bathroom/shower facility is tired and with a little investment could be much better, but all functional.

Were you happy with them?

We were happy with the facilities but the bathroom/shower, as other visitors have mentioned in their feedback, could be better with a little investment. *Angling Lines comment* Thank you for your feedback. We have discussed with owner Philippe and he will be revamping the toilet & shower facilities in the closed winter season.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Absolutely. This was an intro for 2 of us to carp fishing in France and for us all to reach new PBs you can't ask for more. The chance to catch a 60+ shouldn't be overlooked.

Angling Lines have made the experience very easy and would certainly use their services again. Happy to recommend to others. The honest feedback from others helped us in our angling.

General Comments:

It is a near 4 hour drive from Calais, and perhaps depending where you live a longer ferry to/from Caen may not be so tiring. We met the owner Phillipe who is very welcoming and has some great stories to tell. We bought 25kg sack of pellets he uses to feed the carp in the winter for €80 cash.

4 anglers and caught 18 fish between us 2 x 50lb, 3x40lb, 11x 30lb and 2 between 19lb and 26lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Essential Cell Pop ups and Atlantic Heat Pop ups and Wafters all fished tight (3 to 4 metres)to far margin or dam wall.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Lake was very attractive, the food package was the best we have had in France, toilets/shower is a good walk from peg 3 but not an issue once you got use to it.

Were you happy with them?

Water in shower / sink always hot, plenty of fridge / freezer space. Jean-Jaques food is superb, well worth taking the food package.

General Comments:

Fishing was quite peggy, left hand peg 1 and right hand peg 3 had the majority of the fish. Lots of fish holding up in the out of bounds area at the time we were there. The Owner, Chef and baliff are lovely people and very welcoming and Stefan the bailiff knows the spots so ignore him at your peril

Were the facilities what you expected?

Well equipped kitchen, could have been cleaner i.e oven and utensils were greasy. Shower was hot but floor always damp even with heater on due to location. *Angling Lines comment* Thank you for your feedback. We have discussed with owner Philippe and he will be revamping the toilet & shower facilities in the closed winter season. He will also ask the cleaners to be more vigilant when cleaning the facilities between bookings.
