Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Any good quality bait will catch if presented well. Our group used a mix of DNA and Baitworks boilies as feed as well as corn, pellet and various glugs / oils. Fish were caught on match the hatch, yellow pop ups, snowman, pink corn, yellow corn etc, Ronnie / spinner rigs.
Fish caught mainly from far bank and dam wall, anything from 1 metre to 4 metres off. Also peg 3 guys caught a lot of fish stalking in the snags / out of bounds areas as bailiff said was a good spring tactic.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. Although fairly basic the cabin had all we needed with UK plugs for charging, clean hot & cold water and kitchen facilities. The shower and W/C were again basic and not the most luxurious and clean but fit for purpose. Could do with some modernisation for a little bit of luxury, especially when there for a week but on the whole everything was sufficient.

Yes.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, a lovely peaceful lake in a beautiful part of France. No noisy roads - think I saw maybe 3 or 4 walkers throughout the whole week! Venue seems to do big hits of fish when you time it right.

Yes - Angling Lines service from start to finish was great. All info sent over in timely manner and questions answered.

We had 33 fish 29 from. Swim 3 the biggest was a 53 lb 8 oz mirror we had 1 x 50, 5 x 40s, 10 x 30s, 10x20s and 7x doubles.

It was lovely to see Philippe again and great to be back at his lake he is a true gentleman.
Also good to see Steffan another decent chap.

Details of your catches:

There were 3 in the group fishing. 1 in Swim 1 and 2 in swim . The week started slowly, but a near double take broke the alarm silence on Tuesday morning. Things picked up then with 11 fish caught over the week, 4 from Swim 1 and 7 from the 2 anglers in Swim 3. The largest was a majestic Common of 49 lbs.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Best tactics were yellow pop ups, double tigers or snowman rigs with a yellow pop up, fished close to the far margin.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were as expected and we bought the food package which was excellent and worth the money. Jean-Jacques is a legend and his food kept the group going during tough weather and slow fishing spells. The lodge for food is rustic and was a great communal space to dry off, eat and talk tactics. Plenty of room to charge batteries and there is a UK plug extension.
The bathroom/shower facility is tired and with a little investment could be much better, but all functional.

Were you happy with them?

We were happy with the facilities but the bathroom/shower, as other visitors have mentioned in their feedback, could be better with a little investment.
*Angling Lines comment* Thank you for your feedback. We have discussed with owner Philippe and he will be revamping the toilet & shower facilities in the closed winter season.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Absolutely. This was an intro for 2 of us to carp fishing in France and for us all to reach new PBs you can't ask for more. The chance to catch a 60+ shouldn't be overlooked.

Angling Lines have made the experience very easy and would certainly use their services again. Happy to recommend to others. The honest feedback from others helped us in our angling.

General Comments:

It is a near 4 hour drive from Calais, and perhaps depending where you live a longer ferry to/from Caen may not be so tiring. We met the owner Phillipe who is very welcoming and has some great stories to tell. We bought 25kg sack of pellets he uses to feed the carp in the winter for €80 cash.
