Fished days only from 10am to 10pm, caught 45 fish, 3 30's, 3 20's and loads of mid double commons and mirrors.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Started by using a baitboat loaded with pellet, boilies & particle, caught almost immediately. After a day I went over to using a single tuna bollie with PVA bag of pellet with tuna glug and caught just a many fish so continued with this method so as not to run out of bait.

Were the facilities what you expected?

it is exceptional. The accommodation is spotless and has everything you will need. You have the use of the swimming pool and a jacuzzi on your patio.

Owners 5*, accommodation 5*, lake 5*, fish 5* hopefully this will tell you all you need to know, it is worth every minute of the long journey

Details of your catches:

only 1 person fishing throughout the week and managed to caught 35 fish. The was only fishing parts of the day as well as the temperature was 30+ degrees. Biggest fish caught 33lb 1oz mirror, followed by 31lb mirror. 11 x 20lb fish caught and numerous fish between 6lb & 16lb also caught.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I went for the simple approach and fished a single boilie bottom bait with a size 6 hook. Boilies and pellets were brought from the lake and fish were caught on all flavours of boilies.

Were the facilities what you expected?

No, the facilities were far better than what I had ever imagined. The photos really don’t do this place any justice, it really is one stunning place, not just to fish but to also spend relaxing.

This place really is a little gem and the photos really don’t do this place any justice. Its not only great for fishing but also for just relaxing and that is all down to the daily hard work put in by both Tony and Kim, and what a couple they are too, they go that extra mile to ensure that you have the best stay possible. Thanks Tony and Kim for everything you did for us.

Details of your catches:

1 Angler, 74 Carp and 1 black Bass. 6x30’s, lots of high 20’s and loads of hard fighting double figure commons. Largest fish of the week was a 35lbs 8oz mirror, largest common was 32lbs 6ozs. An incredible week of fishing, especially when I did not fish at night, and fished a few hours in the morning, and about 5 hours in the afternoon early evenings, this was due to the high temperature 34 degrees on some days and lightening storms at night. The fishing was manic, getting a number of takes on the drop, I couldn’t get three rods out at times as every time I tried to get the third rod out, one of the other two would go screaming off ...... absolute madness ...... but I loved every minute of it.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Seriously, every bait I tried worked, majority of fish came from margin spots. I used various baits as I wanted to slow things down and get into some of the big girls in this amazing venue, but no matter what bait I used, something was straight on it.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Tony and Kim have obviously worked extremely hard to have an amazing complex. Everything you could ever want is at this venue, the pool was a god send in the hot weather, there is also a hot tub and free enterainmain from Cerano and Lucky (the Peacocks), funniest animals ever, the antics of these two had me crying with laughter.

Were you happy with them?

Anyone who finds fault it’s this venue is purely nit picking, it’s everything an angler and their family could ever want. Tony and Kim have ongoing projects as far as they are concerned, the venue is not yet complete. As far as my and I are concerned, it was an amazing week, everything about the venue is brilliant.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

100%. It is a long drive 7 hours, but worth it, we travelled on the night ferry to Caen and had a cabin, had a good nights sleep prior to the drive. Should have caught the night ferry back as our afternoon crossing meant we had to leave the venue early on the Saturday morning.

Always.

General Comments:

The first netting of the lake will be at the end of this season and I am sure it will be a serious big fish water. Until then, going this year, go and have fun and enjoy an amazing venue even though I did not land one of the big girls, it was still an amazing venue and if I can catch carp to order so can you, you might even be luckier than me and bank that big 60. My advice is book this lake while you can, soon to be one of the jewels in the crown of angling lines.

Details of your catches:

Having finally arriving with my wife after a long drive at Les Landes the beauty of the place was truly overwhelming. The swimming pool was so inviting in the 33°c heat and as I gazed over the pristine 4 acre lake, I could see carp jumping out here and there as so to say "catch me if you can!". Needless to say, within an hour of arriving I was into my first of many carp. In total I caught 24 carp. The biggest being 32lb. I had another two 30lbers and around 10 in the higher 20's. I hooked into what looked like a 40lber but as I was playing the fish, it jumped up high out of the water and managed to shake my hook out. So I started to retrieve my tackle only for a zander to take the bait. Amazing fishing! The fishing was that good that I ended up just using one rod as I couldn't cope with my other rods screaming off whilst i was playing another fish, it really was that good!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Before setting off I was advised to take krill boilies so I bought 20kg and a bottle of krill glug and also 25kg of particle mix. Tony the owner advised me to also use trout pellets as that is what they feed them on throughout the year, all these ingredients went into my bait boat and sent out to the far margins with a 20mm krill boilie dipped in the glug and presented on a ronnie rig. Within 10 minutes i was into my first of many Les Landes carp! Although not a monster it was very well received and i now knew that this was gonna be an epic week of angling and i was not wrong. After catching a few more, Tony and Kim came to see how i was getting on and then advised me to fish out in the middle next to the two lilly pads as that is where I will find the bigger fish. Within 10 minutes of taking the advice, I was into my pb of 32lb. It was like the frequency of tiddler bashing but for decent carp. The best week's angling of my life!

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were out if this world. A fantastic swimming pool and hot tub was great to be able to cool down in the blistering 34°c heat. A very comfortable kingsize bed and large english tv so i could still watch the world cup finals when not fishing. The grounds in the full complex was maintaned to an extremely high standard, the pruning of the beautiful flora and fauna and the mowing of the lawns around the full perimetre of the lake. It was like fishing a lake on a golf course, it was that good! The owners even went to the extreme of picking up any peacock poo so as to keep it to this standard!

The accomodation was truly outstanding. Far better than my wildest dreams

I would most definitely recommend this place to a friend, however my only fear is that this place will become fully booked for many years to come and I will have to wait for my return. But it will definitely be worth the wait!

Angling Lines have vetted this place and although this was my first holiday with them, I wont be looking anywhere else

General Comments:

Not just for fantastic angling but an excellent venue for a peaceful holiday in the sun. The owners Tony and Kim really did go out of their way to make it as perfect as possible and perfect it was. We went out for meals and drinks with the owners and had a great time and a fantastic laugh. I would like to call them our new found friends. Even when I broke my landing net, Tony lent me his so I could carry on catching and at the end of the holiday he gave me mine back all repaired by him so I dont have to replace it. What more could anyone ask from your English hosts. The duck egg that I was given that I had for breakfast was truly delicious.
