Is this a record – 3 x 50lb+ carp in 24hours for a lady angler?, 1st Apr
Amanda Groves certainly showed her male colleagues how to fish Laroussi on a recent trip landing 3 x 50lb+ carp in 24hours!
Amanda takes up the story; Arriving at this venue for the first time, we were all taken back by how lovely the lake and surroundings are. However, being the only girl amongst 6 male anglers, I knew I had my work cut out!
After we picked ours swims (I got La Pointe) I decided to let it rest until the evening. I then baited up a small beds of baits consisting of Laroussi partiblend and sweetcorn. My first rod went out and at 4am I landed a fantastic 54lb mirror beating my PB by 14lb... then my next rod came in at 52lb mirror followed by another 52lb... all in less than 24 hours. Not bad for a girl!
I went on to catch several more fish... a 48lb mirror, 24lb and 18lb grass carp and a couple of tench. What a fantastic week we had as my fellow angler also had a 73lb lake record sturgeon, a 38lb mirror and a huge 62lb mirror!

Congratulations to Andy Reeves for catching the new lake record sturgeon at 73lb 4oz!
The same fish was out last week at 72lb 8oz.

Fantastic Laroussi catch!, 1st Apr
Hi Bridget, Just returned from a great week on Laroussi.
Mehdi has the full catch report, but in summary we had the following: 1 x 63lb carp (caught by me I am very happy to say J), 5 x 50lb + carp, 5 x 40lb + carp, 5 x 30lb + carp, 2 x 20lb + carp. Numerous grass carp up to 37lb 12oz & several sturgeon up to 73lb.
I have attached some of the pictures of my fish.

Laroussi owner grows the European Record Pumpkin!, 1st Dec
Extract taken from Carp Talk on-line; So why on earth do we have a picture of the new (1,611lb) European Record pumpkin in this week’s Carp-Talk Xtra?
Well firstly it was grown by Mehdi Daho who is the owner of the popular Angling Lines venues Old Oaks & Laroussi and secondly he decided to put the outer flesh of the fruit to good use and what could possibly be better than turning it into a water going vessel capable of holding up to six people!
He then put the pumpkin/boat to better use, using it to land a couple of hard fighting carp from his own lake, the biggest of which was this 40lb specimen below.
The fish fell for a Quest Baits Fruity Trifle boilie.
