I was fishing in the point and managed an amazing 21 fish including 1 x 67lb carp (the creature) 3 x 50lb+ carp and 5 x 40lb+ carp. David unfortunately only caught grass carp moving swims from le haut fonde to le plage. John had 3 fish to 49 in le chene and keith had 4 fish to 55 in le anse.

I was fishing with just boilie, and the others in our party were using boilie over particle.

Were the facilities what you expected?

As stated in the previous feedback Mehdi has been very busy over the winter, and all swims are immaculate! Fishing has also improved with loads of the smaller grass carp being removed allowing the carp to put on massive weight gains!

Were you happy with them?

We all said that it was an absolute pleasure to fish the lake, with one of our group having fished many different French waters he assured me Laroussi is by far the best lake he has fished!!

General Comments:

Mehdi makes this lake such an amazing lake to fish! He is always there for advice if needed, but is also happy to let you get on with fishing if that is what you want. When I caught my 67lber I phoned Mehdi who was not at the lake at the time and he left what he was doing to come see the fish and congratulate me on my capture! Mehdi you are a legend, thanks again we will definitely be back next year if not before for a sneaky winter session.

General Comments:

Although I struggled to find the carp, still a great week on one of the best venues I've fished in France. Medhi was his usual friendly, happy helpful self. Will be back.

Details of your catches:

I was awaiting specific catches from our group, but it has not arrived. Our group of five involved three from weymouth, myself from Cambridge and Tim I knew from a previous trip, ? Birmingham. Our catch was good with a total of 50-ish fish. Tim had three 40's + others, I had a 54 fully scaled and a 41 grassy + others. Dave had Pretty Common at 44 + others. Steve had a 70, a 50 pound Ghost common and others, Mike had a 54, a 40+ and others. On the whole a cold week, lots of rain and some sunshine. We all employed different tactics and overcame difficult times. Perhaps Tim was the one who was the most resilient fishing Plage and stuck by his bait and rigs but switched on to fish movements a bit further out from his swim and had about seven fish on friday and last night. It was a great group of like minded individuals really getting on and respecting our different styles.

I was finding my bait boat quite helpful and did not cast, while weymouth boys were less dependent on them and Tim had my respect for casting all his baits out old school and well deserved his final day purple catch over the last 24 hrs.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes very good, Mehdi had done a lot of work over winter and I for one noticed he had removed a lot of snags around the lake and he has introduced around 36 new carp to his fish stocks. I also know he has worked hard to remove many grass carp from the lake between 20 and thirty pounds in weight, consequently fish weights are up from 5 to nine pounds each fish in one year. One of our group caught a 70 pound fish that was a mid sixty only last year. So now the lake has four 70's, three left to catch after our week. Its exciting to await their capture as some lucky devil will likely catch a lake record fish if caught before spawning.

Oh yes very good venue and very friendly informative, helpful fishery manager in Mehdi.

If you want a special experience pitting your skill on a beautiful lake then come here. Its not easy but if you work hard ands observe the rewards are amazing :-)

General Comments:

I came to fish Larroussi in my 28 yr old Landrover Defender. It broke down in Calais with a fuel line failure. I negotiated with my breakdown service recovery to the lake (having first rung Medhi). Once taken to the lake I was told further assistance for the fuel line problem would be at my expense. Both Medhi and myself thought the repair was perfectly viable. He had a busy week that week as his wife gave birth to his third child a little girl. Despite this he organised a new piece of fuel line to be made and it solved my problem. Many thanx to Mehdi for helping me with this, he is so helpful and friendly its beyond belief. I couldn't believe my eyes when he demonstrated long rage casting of a spomb accross the lake from point and hit near the top of the poplars on the other side. He is a monster caster and so knowledgeable re carp fishing.

Steve and myself were fishing the point and peg 1, where we had 22 carp to include 70.8 mirror, 54.4 mirror and a 50.8 common. There were 50 odd fish caught over the lake

I think we were quite lucky to be there that week because they don't just jump onto your rods you have to work at it.

General Comments:

Having an owner like Medhi makes a big difference with his knowledge and help when you need it, great guy. Also having a great bunch of lads around the lake can make the difference between a good and a bad week
