Ray was sort of okay, first greeting was negative about the fishing as he said it’s not been great fishing lately, your see them but hard to catch. Relayed very little tactics & best spots and not much else from him during our stay, swimming lake emptied & digger scrapping the bed for 4 days. Ask if we could fish for the perch & pike pass time of day he said no.

Not sure think you need to update the venues more often or be more precise with rules as in bait boilies need to be labelled as one guests were sealed freezer but not labelled so he just about let him use them. Fancied fishing for the perch but not allowed

General Comments:

Nice week weather wise, Ray from the off told us you may not catch as there not feeding well and not much more out of him during the week. Been a few places over the years and revisited but wouldn’t return here. *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that conditions were hard this week. Owner Ray, is always available on the number in your info pack if you have any questions or would like advice. Ray has confirmed that the electric radiators are in full working order however do require turning on manually at the switch. He has also confirmed that perch and pike fishing are not permitted, and we’ve updated our website to reflect this. We’ve also clarified the rule regarding boilies, which must be clearly labelled. General Comments:

We were very unlucky with the weather, which was perfect the day we arrived but chucked it down pretty much the whole rest of the week. Really enjoyed meeting Ray and having daily chats. Very nice little venue.

3 men 18 fish to 57lb 5oz. We hit 41 degree's in the early part of the trip which didn't help.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I went on to smaller set up with bait and hook size after little success. 15mm boillies part of a "snowman" with size 6 hooks made the difference.

These are fantastic, clean and very well equipped.

General Comments:

This was our second year fishing this beautiful lake. Very tranquil surroundings. Everything you need is only a 15min drive including a English chippie. Ray and his wife are very welcoming. He is a very experienced carp angler and will offer advice if asked, without being overpowering. Top bloke.

1 fish caught between the two fishing, 26lb mirror. 2 lost at net.

Bites very hard to come by had 4 all week. Was very hot though. Most bites in morning.

Deffo not a runs water, we was prob a little inexperienced for the difficulty of the lake.
