Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Used high viz pop up over owners particle and boilies, 3 small fish caught in day light hours all other fish caught between 10pm and 7am.
It's very difficult to know where to fish as the lake has a clay bottom therefore you have no idea where the fish are feeding so takes a while to find the best spots.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were excellent, the only 1 negative was that there is no washing machine in accommodation

General Comments:

Extremely hot conditions so was very happy with number of fish caught. Ray is such a nice guy, listen to him regarding areas to fish, he knows this lake inside out and is always willing to help.

Details of your catches:

7 fish to 52lb mirror and a 38lb grass carp. All fish were in stunning condition. Only fished dawn to dusk across 5 days.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Used Ray's supplied boilies over particle. Also caught on 4 bait stringer cast to showing fish. Simple rigs with size 6 hooks.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The lodge was to a very high standard and extremely well presented. A real home from home.

Were you happy with them?

I was there with my wife (a non-angler) and we were both very impressed with the accommodation.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Absolutely would recommend to a friend. My wife bought it for my 60th birthday and she couldn't have made a better choice of venue.

Yes, everything was well organised and easy to use.

I was looking forward to this for months, and it met and genuinely exceeded my expectations. Thank you Ray for being a diamond host! A very special place.

Yes, I found Angling Lines very helpful after our original venue fell through. I will definitely be booking via Angling Lines again

General Comments:

The welcome on arrival was non-existent from the moment we arrived, it felt like the owner (Ray) didn't want us there, and it was just an inconvenience. Not helpful, not friendly. If he became that way after a couple of days, you could say we had upset him. Unfortunately, it was from the moment we arrived
