Boilies and Wafters on simple hair rigs worked perfectly well during the week. There wasn't anything special required other than finding the spots the fish were feeding on.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Better than expected. Incredibly high standard of accommodation which would suit a family stay and was more than enough for a group of fishermen. The swimming / kayak lake had been drained to keep water in the fishing lake and with there being no rainfall we understood why it was empty. It wasn't a problem for us.

Were you happy with them?

Very much so. 5 Stars all round there :)

General Comments:

Amazing venue, amazing fish and a brilliant host. We had a great week even though the water level being low had cut off some parts of the lake. We also had a new PB each which was more than expected. Over the moon by the end of the week.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were some of the best I’ve seen in all my years of going to France, really well equipped and can’t fault them at all great shower too.

Absolutely no problem at all!

Yes I would Ray is a really nice fella and made us feel welcome from the start, really good location as well if you need supplies etc, close to a beautiful town with lots to see as well.

Yes of course I use Angling Lines for most of my trips to France, the service has always been great.

General Comments:

Great weeks fishing, hard at times as the weather changed so much through the week, with the heat over there this summer the water level was a little down as you would expect but that didn’t stop the bites coming and we both managed our PB’s.

Details of your catches:

An incredible session with 11 carp landed in total: three fish over 50lb, six in the 40s and two in the upper 30s. The highlight was an immaculate 54lb mirror carp a new personal best. The fish were in excellent condition and fought extremely hard. An amazing venue with some truly impressive carp.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

The most successful approach was fishing over baited areas using the venue’s house boilies and particle. This produced consistent action throughout the session.

Yes, the facilities were as expected and provided everything we needed for an enjoyable fishing trip.

Absolutely. Ray, the owner, was amazing friendly, welcoming and always on hand when needed. His advice and knowledge were invaluable, and nothing was too much trouble. We genuinely couldn’t fault the service or facilities.

Absolutely, without hesitation. It is an amazing venue with an impressive stock of large, immaculate carp. Ray was extremely welcoming and always available with helpful advice.

Yes, definitely. The booking process was straightforward, everything was well organised and the information provided was clear and helpful.

General Comments:

What made the trip particularly enjoyable was that it wasn’t necessary to fish around the clock to achieve such fantastic results. I mainly fished from dawn until dusk, with only occasional nights. My partner, who isn’t interested in fishing, came along and had an equally amazing time, making it a wonderful trip for us both.

3 PB's, great fishing. Amazing host and brilliant facilities, this was our 2nd time at La Maniere and we will definitely be back again.
