General Comments:

Proprietors were very pleasant and helpful as previously stated we were disappointed with the sheer number of catfish in such a small lake but nothing is predictable in the fishing world they need to electro-fish instead of expecting fishermen to catch the cats for disposal or advertise as a mixed fishery and not a carp fishing lake.

There has certainly been a bloom of these towards the end of this year and Gilles plans to remedy the issue over the winter. See latest lake news for more details. Meanwhile anglers are asked to fish without ground bait etc, which should minimise the impact they have on the fishing.

Great week over 70 carp caught including commons mirrors grass carp and koi. Ranging from 12 to very close to 30lb carp.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Mainly caught using single 20 mm boillies supplied by the owners. Feeding pellets and tiger nuts.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were excellent including the tackle hire.

Yes overall everything spot on.

Definitely recommend to anyone looking for plenty of fish in beautiful surroundings.

Exceeded what we were expecting a great week with beautiful weather and scenery. Thoroughly enjoyed by 2 anglers and 2 non anglers, can’t wait to get back.

21 fish including 12 mirrors to 29lb, 2 commons to 19lb, 7 grass carp to 21lb.

Tiger nuts with pop up corn. Best spot was the right hand margin.
