Only fished a couple of hour morning and night, but still had many fish out : All 20lb upwards 9x mirror carp up to 29.5lb 5x common carp to 27.5lb 7x grass carp to 27lb 5x carp from 14lb to 20lb

I used 10” rigs with size 4hooks bait boated out with a couple of handfuls of boilie supplied by Gilles (20mm Rahman spice) . Boilie shrink wrap a must I found Korda super wrap the best.

General Comments:

After a very lond drive I knew in the first 5 minutes of seeing the venue it was worth it the place is stunning. Sharon and Gilies are very welcoming and get you settled in straight away. I only fished a couple of hours morning and night with my 11 year old son and the lake always puduced. This is a great place for all the family spending the days round the pool or out to the local village or even a close by water park. We will definitely be booking again for next year and can’t wait. Lost count of the number of fish I had, lots of commons, mirrors and grass carp to mid 30's.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Started the week fishing from the main peg right behind the house but found I couldnt get my rods in quick enough before one of them rattled off. Best tactics seemed to be stalking up near the snags at the top end of the lake. Keep quiet and you'll see the fish. Boilie over the top of a handful of freebies. Nice easy fishing. Yes, facilities were great. Pool is a great bonus, kept the kids quiet while I did some stalking.

Very happy, very clean and comfortable! Everything you would need for a weeks holiday with the family.

General Comments:

Excellent venue with some great things locally to do. Really quiet so great for the family especially with the pool.

Mixture of commons & mirrors 38 fish caught, total weight 664lb, lost 21 fish

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Stiff fluro carbon so the hair can't move too much, as I found the fish I lost every time the boilie which was wrapped in armo mesh was caught over hook point. Probably due to the small cats keep picking up the bait. Boilies used were bait works monster red & royal marine 18mm.

General Comments:

We had 2 weeks at Mas Bas. The journey is long however well worth it. Beautiful surroundings, the pool was excellent we all loved it. The fishing was good the weather was excellent mainly 30 degrees every day. The house has every thing you need and is very clean also the area is so peaceful. Plenty of wildlife we did see some deer, kingfisher, wood pecker. Gilles was very helpful we did have one issue and Gilles did his upmost and got it sorted. We wanted to book next year same time but dates have already gone. Good luck to Gilles & Sharon, we will be back, loved it.

Details of your catches:

Very much under fished and should have had a lot more fish. This was due mainly to me suffering from heart failure and consequently was recovering for two days from the two day drive from Caen. Two caught, two lost, not particularly big but good fighters never the less. Common Carp 16lb 4oz, Goldfish 13lb 4oz.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Quest baits Rajah Spice, and Gilles' own boillies. Both hair rigged with a large floating fake sweetcorn tip.

Having been several times before we knew what to expect and as usual were not disappointed.

Were you happy with them?

Yes, extremely happy.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Without doubt. Especially someone with a family who are not necessarily into fishing. The remoteness of the venue, and the walks, and peace and quiet, and the availability of the swimming pool all go toward making this an all round family venue. The local town is only 15 minutes drive away and has everything needed, Supermarket, Pizza House, and Restaurant.

Yes. I have done several times.

Although I was very ill at the time, it was still a relaxing holiday.
