Details of your catches:
It was just myself fishing really, my daughters did a bit of float fishing for the small roach but I was the only one fishing for the carp. I caught 36 fish over the week but could have caught far more if I had fished the lake harder. I was mainly fishing just one rod and only fishing 4 or so hours a day, it got to the stage where I didn't dare put a 2nd rod out in case I had two fish on at once, the bites came within 10 mins or so of the bait boat dropping. Largest fish was a 53lb 4oz mirror, had loads of 30s, mostly grass carp around the 35lb mark that fought like mad, smallest was a 20lb common.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
I started using pop ups etc but Gilles told me to change to bottom only and the catch rates improved a lot doing this. I used mainly scopex squid cult coated on the hook and used scopex squid, monster crab and the pellets as feed, these were provided by Gilles. 10k of each boilies and 20k of the pellets. At the start of the week I had rods off the far margins and the aerator but by the end of the week just one rod 10 meters off the aerator was all I needed to do.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, rustic but clean and tidy. The pool was amazing as it was 35 degrees when we were there.
Were you happy with them?
Yes the whole experience was great, we really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location.

Details of your catches:
The fishing was incredible throughout. Over the week, we landed 70 fish, including mirror, common, koi and grass carp, plus a few bream that the children loved holding. Highlights included a 56lb mirror carp, which we believe may be the biggest fish in the lake, and a stunning 22lb white koi that the kids were especially excited to see.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We usually fished early mornings and evenings, spending the middle of the day enjoying family activities, the pool and the local area. The most productive spots were the right-hand margin near the pontoon, the far margins, and later in the week, open water with PVA bags and pop-ups. Simple helicopter rigs with single pop-ups worked really well, along with the bait Gilles recommended: Nash Monster Crab boilies, tiger nuts and large halibut pellets.
Were the facilities what you expected?
We arrived as a large family group utilising all of the space in the main house. The facilities were exactly what we expected. Beautiful rustic French accommodation, with large fully stocked kitchen and equipment. The large fridge and washing facilities in the downstairs utility were fantastic. We utilised the large outdoor table daily for our family lunches and dinners - sitting next to the lake and pool. We also used the outdoor bbq oven which worked brilliantly. There were a couple of damp days, so the huge internal log burner/fireplace enabled us to dry out some of our soggy clothes.
Were you happy with them?
The facilities catered for exactly what we needed. The beds and bedding were comfortable and clean. The showers and bath all worked perfectly.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Absolutely - and have already done so!
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes - the process, payments and information flow has been flawless.
General Comments:
A massive thank you to Gilles for all his help throughout the week. We had the best time and definitely hope to return to Masbas Lakes in the future. It was perfect.

Details of your catches:
We landed a total of 63 fish over 6 days. There was a mixture of beautiful mirror up to 54lb, common up to 33lb, hard fighting grass to 34.1lb and Koi up to 20lb.
We had a number of double takes and even a triple mirror take, which was a real highlight for our group.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Some spots were more productive at dawn and dusk, and others during the day. We fished scopex snowman rigs with a yellow topper mainly. But we found red and pink combos worked well too. Up the far end of the lake, we found a lovely shallow area for daytime stalking with plenty of carp feeding. Although care had to be taken to avoid snags.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, comfy beds, immaculately clean and a well equipped kitchen. The log burner was a nice touch too.
1 of the group rented rods/pod/bite alarms/nets. They were all top notch kit.
Were you happy with them?
Yes very much so
