15 carp biggest was 43lb, inc a few thirties and one other 40lb. 2 old original river carp and a few twenties.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Krill fishmeal, a nutty one, pineapple also we tried the lakes nutty bait which was good quality too. We followed the fish. Carp not that active so 15mm bottom baits were picking up the bream so changed to 16mm snowmans, popped up and that worked. Fish tended to be held up in one area at the time. We baited to begin with but then just with small offerings around the hook bait. Far margin worked.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes very good, brilliant. Hot shower and clean. Used the bikes to go around the lake to the facilities.

Bruno is a great guy, really helpful. Lovely lake.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Fishy baits worked best. 20mm cc Moore Pacific tuna and tiger nuts on a hair rig, pink anything also worked.

Toilets were too far away. But the shower is lovely. The social hut is really good, 2 fridges and loads of electricity points.

Yes. Very secured location. Fence round the whole complex.

General Comments:

Beautiful lake, two double pegs to the left of the lake are massive. Unfortunately due to the weather the two single pegs we slightly under water. Bruno is extremely friendly and very helpful, even showed us round his 2nd lake and told us where the local supermarket was.

Details of your catches:

Tough week for all 5 anglers on. The fish had clearly not woke up yet. I fished Willow peg as a single angler. And like everyone else I struggled. There were only 7 carp out for the week. In the end I landed 1 Mirror at 39lb, 4 bream and a tench. I Lost 2 at the net which is fishing. Note there are various marginal snags around the lake so I would advise to check where you plan to fish to see if they are any close to your spots. I fished locked up all week as they know exactly where they are.

Yellow baits on various rigs seem to worked over boilies, Bruno’s Particle mix and tigers nuts

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were excellent. Just be aware that willow peg is the furthest point from the toilet but there are bikes supplied. The lodge sits between Apple swim and the two single swims where there are fridges, freezers and power points.

Were you happy with them?

Yes, clean with plenty of hot water.

Yes, beautiful lake, lovely owner. Just the fish didn’t play ball this time.

Yes, second trip wilt AL and probably not the last.

General Comments:

Great venue in a lovely setting. On its day it think it will be an excellent water. I would probably return in the future maybe at a different time of there year.
