General Comments:

Very quite week, only 9 carp caught between 5 of us. I fished the top bay and only saw 1 fish crash through the week but that’s fishing.

Details of your catches:

1 x 16lb carp only, all the carp were in Willow swim in the out of bounds area, they know that they are safe there and won't come out, unless you fish that swim you will be in for a hard session. We left after 4 days because there were no fish showing in our swim at all.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Fish the far margins but not tight because the snags are huge, not maintained and will loose you fish and loose your rigs.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Shower was good. Bikes need renewing as they were broken.

General Comments:

Get rid of the snags to allow you to fish safely. *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that you had a hard time on the lake. We are aware there are some marginal snags that were not possible to remove due to high water levels this spring, the owner does intend to work on these when possible to do so which will make fishing a little easier.

Had a good week 4 of us fished we had total of 40 fish between us, one 54lb, six 40s, most fish over 30lb

Fishing far margin with bait boats nearly all fish came in night

Been before, got everything you need clean toilets and shower two fridge freezers and a chest freezer for bait plenty of charging sockets

I always do recommend as been with angling lines 6 times, better than tui can't fault them

General Comments:

Lake is stunning, well kept pegs, spot on fish growing like weeds, going to be very popular

Details of your catches:

Father & son team, relatively quiet week. 7 fish landed, majority commons, but lost 5 in the snags over in the far margin. Two 42lb commons - both PB's, one 39lb, one 26lb and the remaining were in and around the 20lb mark. Fish were in great condition, and hard fighting!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Fished a variety of tactics and baits. We bait boated to the far margins as no fish showing in the middle of the lake. Most successful were sweet baits such as CC Moore Live System, fished over Bruno's particle mix, which was very good, and the house pellets. Fluorocarbon D rig worked the best.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes facilities were very good. As we were aware the trip to the toilets/showers were lengthy but Bruno has supplied a bike, and we took an additional one which helped massively! Be prepared for a 1.5 mile round trip so plan ahead!

Were you happy with them?

Yes, always clean and tidy, shower was excellent! Double pegs are spacious and gravel, really nice. There is a cabin which has two fridge-freezers and a chest freezer. In addition there are multiple charging points in the cabin, but remember to bring your UK adaptors and extension leads etc. as they are all French! You have your own key for your swim and the carp park gates.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, but looking at the feedback and our own experience, a good week is around 10 -12 fish per angler, so slightly disappointed not to have caught more but that's fishing!!

Yes, 1st time with Angling Lines and they were really good. Already booked another venue through them for 2025. Will definitely use again. Everything is so simple to book and taken care of, payment plan scheme and reminders etc.

General Comments:

A lovely lake in nice quiet surroundings and some hard fighting fish. The town is literally 2 minutes away, Pacy-Sur-Eure, and has everything you need from a Carrefour to an Aldi supermarket, to a pizza place and a kebab shop if you don't fancy cooking. Bruno is a really good guy, speaks excellent English, and was on hand or via phone for any advice or tips. Probably the biggest disappointment was that the fish congregate over the fair side of the lake, which unless you can cast over 100 yards or 30+ wraps then you will definitely need a bait boat and probably a 2nd battery!! Would we go again, yes, fab lake and great fish, but on the main proviso that the snags have been cleared. We chatted to Bruno about this and due to the heavy rain over the winter he has been unable to cut away lots of the snags on the far margin. Finally, the ducks were rather annoying, could easily wipe out your line but also they follow your bait boat out and then dive on your bait. Any pre-baited spots were being cleared within a few minutes as the ducks keep diving underneath the water!
