General Comments:
Fantastic venue, and Bruno was a great host and very helpful. The lake has loads of features to fish to which each sets its own challenges. Loverly local area with a fantastic local town with supermarkets and restaurants.

Details of your catches:
It was a really slow week across the whole lake, largely due to the weather being so inconsistent. The fish were ready to spawn but were holding off. This meant that they were pretty much held up in one spot, which luckily for me was my end of the lake. I ended up with 12 fish up to 43lb and my pal only ended up with 2 Carp to 38lb
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
You will 100% need a bait boat to reach the far margin unless you can confidently and accurately cast and spomb to 140yds or in some case 160yds. Bruno's particle mix is really good and I found that everything worked but a snowman pacific tuna and 10mm white pop up worked best.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yep they were fine, although it is a bit of a trek to get to the shower/toilet. There are bikes provided which helped.
Were you happy with them?
Yes, the only thing I would say was needed is a bin at the rear of each swim.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, but looking at the feedback and our own experience, I wouldn't say this can be classed as a runs water as the average on a good week is around 10 -12 fish per angler. For me a runs water would be 20 fish+ per angler each week consistently.

General Comments:
A lovely lake in nice quiet surroundings and some absolutely cracking and hard fighting fish. The town which is 2 minutes away has everything you need from a supermarket to a pizza place and a kebab shop if you don't fancy cooking. Bruno is a really good guy and is always on hand to offer advice and help. The only disappointment is that there are some lovely gravel patches all over the lake but for some reason the fish all seem to be in the opposite margins, which like I have mentioned unless you can cat accurately and Spomb to 120-160 yards then you will definitely need a bait boat. Our week changed as soon as we went and bought one and I went from having no fish for the 1st few days to 12 by the end of the week.

Details of your catches:
We all fished the 2 double swims in the main body of water. We did try some stalking in the smaller part of the lake but nothing from this location. 15 fish caught in total, 1 person blanked. 5 x teens. 5 x 20s. 4 x 30s, 1 x 40 plus 2 tench (8 fish lost in snags)
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
None really. Soon as we arrived Bruno said the fish were preparing to spawn, the week was going to be hard. And it was! You have to fish the margins. Open water and near margins do NOT produce any bites, you WILL need a bait boat to catch fish.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, mostly good
Were you happy with them?
2 issues: the toilet seat was missing from the loo and the first shower that was taken flooded the toilet block, we had to spend 2 hours mopping the floor, could have done without this. When mentioned to Bruno he is aware and waiting the plumber to unblock the drains. A heads up would have been helpful.

So a few positives and negatives here. Positives: 1: The lake is very nice, well maintained and pleasant place to be 2: Bruno is a great guy, happy to help you out and leave to you wish. depending on your preference. Negative's: 1: The margin (where you have to fish) are completely riddled with snags. most of these can be seen from the waters edge but there are plenty you can not see. 2: The ducks, well, what can I say.. firstly they wipe out your rod pod every few hours while they fight and chase each other for about 20 hours per day, every day. one of the pod wipe outs broke a rod tip. Secondly. EVERY time the bait boat goes out 20 or 30 ducks follow it and then dive on your bait, within 2 minutes of the bait dropping the ducks have picked up your hook bait and moved it around or taken your boilie off the hair. Fishing this week was hard enough but this made it near impossible.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, so far so good. I am new to Angling Lines and service has been good so far
General Comments:
The toilet is a 1.8 mile round trip from the furthest swim. A bike is provided (thank god) but make sure you think ahead or you might get caught short :) Would i visit again? the answer would be no due to the ducks and snags. if these problem were gone I would for sure. These were the thoughts from all 4 of us. *Owner note* Thank you for your feedback and apologies again for the issue with the shower and toilet - both are now fixed. Regarding the ducks, we take your feedback onboard and will manage the amount on the lake. We will also try to clear again the margin as best we can.
