Details of your catches:

30 fish between us on first week back after Covid lockdown so it took a while to change their feeding habits but once we got them feeding it was busy. It was also a time for me to hone my two teenage sons’ skills which meant I spent more time with them for the first three days than concentrating on my own swim. We lost 10 fish as well in the first few days so could have been many more fish if we had worked better.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Lots of particle, pellet and Pacific Tuna boilies in a good spread, then concentrate on fish two rods on those areas and one just off them. We caught mainly on corn stacks at first until they got on the boilies, then boilie tipped with yellow or white buoyant corn. 15 or 18 mm worked equally as well

Were the facilities what you expected?

Better actually. Really good, powerful shower in a large cubicle/wet room. Nice loo/shower block which Bruno supplies a bike to get to as it was the other side of the lake. Sounds a pain but was actually a pleasant surprise. The fisherman’s Lodge was large and very comfortable with two fridge/freezers ideal for food and freezer packs as well as plenty of power points.

Were you happy with them?

Very.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Not only would I recommend it, I would happily take them there!! I have a busy stressful job and totally relaxed there whilst catching plenty of fish. Reeled in on last night as needed to sleep ?

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Definitely. Angling Lines have been brilliant through these difficult times (Covid lockdown). Communication has been regular and informative and returned emails swiftly. They had to change my travel arrangement due to ferry crossing cancelling but always remained positive and got me there fine. All information on the venue was totally accurate.

General Comments:

Better than advertised! I was slightly concerned about the photos of the double swims having a road behind them but it turns out it’s just a private drive to one house and only saw a couple of cars a day, behind the road was a lovely open field of wheat with large trees beyond. The views in all directions were really beautiful. My main reason for going to this particular venue was that I wanted to take my two teenage sons (15 and 17) to their first French fishing venue on a water where I felt that they would be able to handle any fish and it’s an opportunity for me to help them to hone their skills. Not only was it perfect for this with a large head of 20s and plenty of 30s as well as a couple of 40s and some lovely grass carp, it made me realise how much I personally enjoy catching fish of this size. I usually aim to go to waters with 50’s in but I will definitely go back here as it offers a different experience. It’s the sort of place you can go and catch plenty of fish and with a lovely small town 5 minutes away, I’d be happy to reel in at lunchtimes and go for a bite to eat there which I never normally do as I’m only aiming at 6 or 7 bites so want to spend all my time lakeside. Bruno is excellent, really helpful and wants you to catch. It was tranquil and extremely relaxing and the double swims got sun from morning to night with plenty of shady spots provided by a row of apple trees along the grassy bank. The margins were predominantly snag free with numerous large overhanging weeping willows and other trees. Bait boats are pretty essential or at least really help for accurate fishing at 90-120 yards. Use their bait, it works. Maize from the particle mix was perfect for hookbait with two pieces of pop-up plastic corn to balance it. The fish like food there so put plenty in. I mean plenty. We got through 35 kilos of boilie, 40 kg of particle and 20 kg of pellet between 3 of us. But it was a strange week as no bait had been in for weeks/months (Covid) so we worked hard to get the fish into our spots. Fish came mainly between midnight and 11.00am. Hardly any evening fish surprisingly but a pattern to work around. I loved it there!!! Although it’s a new commercial fishing venue, this is an old lake so very established looking with some lovely originals as well as the stockies. There will be more 40’s soon and I think we’ll be seeing 50’s coming out in the future.

Details of your catches:

31 carp in total. 5 grass carp to 17:09. Mirrors: 3 doubles, 13 twenties, 2 thirties @ 30:11 & 35:12. Commons: 2 doubles, 5 twenties, 1 x 30 @ 30:03.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Spotted where the fish were and marked three spots. Fished them on bottom rigs and baits and wafters, fishing for a bite a time with small amounts of Bruno’s party blend and pellet with a few boilies doing the trick for me.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Better

Were you happy with them?

Yes, they were all new. Lovely shower. Plenty of bait freezer space with a food fridge freezer. And charging plugs but you will need French to English plugs.

General Comments:

Another great Angling Lines venue well run by Bruno Simond, a credited carp angler in his own right. The lake is well kept more, like someone's garden than a commercial fishery. I caught steady all week with Bruno popping in and giving good advice netting some fish and taking some pictures as I was on my own. A great week's sport I can recommend.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Very few fish were caught during daylight hours (there were two others on the lake), most being caught in the hours of darkness. I fished toward the far bank over a bed of pellet and particle. All were caught on snowman rigs. Choddy set up brought no success, and to be fair the stock of grass carp mean there is little to no weed in the lake.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were as you would expect of Bruno's lakes, immaculately clean and top quality. The shower was probably better than the one I have at home!

Were you happy with them?

Very much so, the shower as mentioned was superb, there is a vast freezer, a fridge freezer and microwave. Attention to detail appears to be Bruno's trademark.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

If I was being completely selfish I would tell my friends to avoid the lake like the plague, only to ensure that it would be available to me when ever I chose to visit. The fact is although in it's infancy as an Angling Lines venue the lake has all the potential to be a "must go to lake". The quality of the fish was beyond my wildest expectations, I honestly think some I caught had never seen the bank. Scale perfect, hard fighting, and will in a couple of years have put on a few extra pounds and be pushing the mythical 40 to 50 pound mark.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

I have done on several occasions. Angling Lines do what it says on the tin. Payment structures make it easy to book 2 or even 3 trips in advance

General Comments:

Single tone screaming runs, immaculate fish, beautiful scenery, and a knowledgeable and friendly host in Bruno are sure to elevate Seigneurie to a must go to lake.
