Was hard going with high pressure all week but managed 4 commons 24lb to 36lb, also the obligatory Bream.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Boilie over particle mix

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Long leader strong hook link due to sharp gravel!
Far margin 3-4 handfuls of bait each time you place your baits
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes the facilities were clean and tidy plenty of hot water in the shower block!
Were you happy with them?
Generally happy ,the only issue is the distance from willow swim to the shower block! This is a mile round trip! There are bikes but you will be saddle sore by the end of the week. Take a bucket in case you get caught short!
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
I would highly recommend this venue! Bruno is very helpful and the fish are in mint condition!

Details of your catches:
For some reason a very tough weeks fishing and as much as we tried the fish just weren't playing ball. Just the 1 carp for me, Andy doesn't want to talk about his "snotty", and I think in total only 10 carp were caught across all swims.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Whatever we tried didn't make a great deal of difference, we were left scratching our heads collectively. Dynamite or a trawl net were about the only things we didn't try! Other feedback I've left reflect more successful weeks.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Top rate and as expected.
Were you happy with them?
Very happy.

This was my 3rd trip to Bruno's excellent lake, there were 2 other groups fishing a draw was held and we found ourselves on Apple swim, one I had never previously fished. As I have mentioned in previous feed back the lake is geared up for an excellent week's fishing. Bruno is a carp angler of considerable talent, and this is reflected in the way the lake is set up.
Willow and Apple are spacious double swims affording a vast expanse of water to explore.
Bay swims, 2 single swims, close enough to be fished by a group of 2 anglers, each have a good amount of water. Indeed either angler could set up on the island next to the cabin to access the main body of the lake.
The whole lake is fenced and secure, the 2 double swims have gate access to allow anglers to unload behind the pegs and then to park in the main parking area. The shower and toilet block are excellent and the cabin has fridge freezers and a multitude of charging points. You will even find a toaster and microwave.
Bruno seems to have thought everything from an anglers perspective, even down to providing bike to cycle round to the showers/toilet.

I cannot imagine that it has been easy during a global pandemic for any travel company, but throughout Angling Lines have provided updates to latest government info. Our initial booked trip to a different lake was cancelled and we were offered the same lake at a later time or a host of other venues. Changes of ferry timings are dealt with promptly and with little fuss. I can't praise them highly enough.
General Comments:
This was our 1st trip across to France post Brexit, and under a multitude of Covid restrictions. We were warned what not and not to attempt to cross with, bait, pellets, particle, food for ourselves. We filled in all relevant forms prior to leaving the UK but our check in consisted of showing our passports and proof of our inoculation status. There was of course the obligatory pre departure van checks, but we weren't checked for bait food etc. I'm not suggesting that our experience was a one off but the other anglers had a similar hassle free trip over.
Currently one needs a proof of covid test prior to return to the UK, Bruno or Diane will arrange this for you, ours cost €25 from the local pharmacy and you get confirmation later that day. Coming back from Calais we had to show our vaccination status, passenger locator form, and the results of the French Covid test. In time I expect some if not all of these requirements to change.

Details of your catches:
Unfortunately we drew the bay swims and the carp stayed up at the willow swim end, so it was a very disappointing week with only 3 carp caught between us 2 x 24 and 1 x 28, 1 tench and some nuisance bream. Having said that the carp we caught were in excellent condition.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
The carp were all from the margins on the farthest side of the lake and about 2’ from the bank. All were caught between midnight and 0300. Particle mix drew in the bream so I opted for boilie tipped with fake corn in pva bag with ground up boilies only.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Better than expected.
Were you happy with them?
The facilities were exceptional. Lovely big shower area and a very well equipped cabin with fridge, freezer and numerous charging points including usb. Bikes provided to access the facilities. Abundant wildlife and a very peaceful stay.

Location and facilities yes, for the fishing it’s hard to say based on this first experience. Others staying at the lake and fishing Apple swim only caught a bream and a jack pike - however this was their third visit to this venue and they said they’d never known it to be so quiet. The two previous times they fished the willow swim and caught far more.

Angling Lines have been superb throughout and their communication has been excellent during the pandemic. I had to move this trip three times due to lockdowns and restrictions and they were very helpful at all times. This was my first trip booked through Angling Lines and I have already booked my next trip with them.
General Comments:
Despite the disappointing fishing - the location, venue, facilities and owners were fantastic. Bruno was not there the week we were and it was left to Diane, his wife, to look after us and she did a fantastic job. She took us to the local town and helped us with the covid tests and we were very appreciative. Pacy sur Eure is a lovely town, it’s very close and has everything you need.
