I had 1 x 55 mirror, 43 common, 45 grassie, 30 common and several singles, doubles and twenties. My friend had a 43 mirror and lots of twenties and doubles

Small baits, little and often baiting and let the fish show you where they are before settling on 1 spot

Everything you could need, basic but clean

The food package is probably the best I’ve ever had at a lake, John and Debbie were perfect hosts and couldn’t do enough for us.

General Comments:

From start to finish Debs and John were absolutely brilliant, very welcoming every question we asked was answered in detail, nothing was too much bother for them. I can honestly say the best owners we have dealt with fishing in France. Can't wait to get back there feel like we are more friends then client's, thanks Debs and John, also Mark is very friendly and has lot of knowledge

We had one fish all week between the 3 of us. That didn't matter as we had a great time.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Short hooklinks, drop the leads and big boilies.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, although I would say that, whilst the shower block was functional, it could do with a refurb / update, especially more lights / power. Shower was hot, wet and clean, so no real complaints. Toilet didn't flush easily (you had to lake the lid off to flush it).

Were you happy with them?

Out of 10, I would give them a 6.

Yes. Tricky fishing but you don't want it to be too easy do you.

General Comments:

There is a bit of an ant problem around the lake. I had to move position and my fellow anglers all had ant trains running through their bivvies. Whilst I understand its outdoors and there will be ants, they were everywhere. When we packed away, despite brushing down, they still ended up in the car. On the way home, we played kill the ant, as they walked across the windscreen / dash / windows as we drove home. Debbie and John were great and the food was excellent. Can't speak highly enough of them.

Details of your catches:

I had the following: 1 x 18lb, 4 x 20's, 1 x 30, 1 x 40 and the Scar Common @59lb 5oz. Tyson had: 1 x 40lb, 1 x 30lb, 5 x 20lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Caught most on combi slip d-rig with double fake corn, over large beds of particle and boilie. Also caught on spinners with small flouro pop-ups.

Yes

Were you happy with them?

They were absolutely fine, with a very hot shower.

General Comments:

We've been on many French trips now and can safely say that Villefond is by far our favourite. The hosts were absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much for them and the food package was banging! Already looking at a return booking for next year.
