Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Wafters or pop ups slightly off the deck. Caught on a range of flavours mainly cell for me with a white topper.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were as expected shower, WC and basin on site next to static caravan.

Definitely would, I would also recommend the food package.

Yes made the trip easier for us took the hassle out of the organising the ferries etc.

General Comments:

Absolutely stunning venue! My second time back and it did not disappoint, was slow going at the start due to spawning but done my PB twice in the space to 24 hrs. Owners are very polite and a pleasure to deal with and the food package is amazing as always look forward to going back again.

Details of your catches:

Fish spawned the week before we went and so was quite slow going until the last 24 hours when the fish started to come back on the feed. 3 of us went in the end and out of three of us we managed 13 fish. 2 under 20lb, 3 x 20lb+, 4 x 30lb+, 3 x 40lb+ and a 52lb common.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Critically balanced baits or wafters seams to be the bait and yellow/white colors.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes exactly as had been before and more than enough for your fishing needs.

Were you happy with them?

Yes very. Very friendly and welcoming. Happy to give advise and have an amazing food package.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes for sure and have done to many. Amazingly beautiful lake, amazing fish and very welcoming owners. Hard lake and no runs water but thats what fishing is all about ;-)

Yes, very simple and easy to use.

Hard week of fishing on a tricky lake but if you get the presentation right you can get on really well, after 4 days I caught a 39lb carp

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

The best baits were hemp and sweetcorn in small amounts, mask the hook by using a sweetcorn rig

The facilities were fine, the food was fantastic

Debbie, John and their son Mark the Baliff were all lovely people, Mark was exceptionally helpful

60lb 10oz Sturgeon caught half way though our weeks stay.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Sweetcorn masking the Hook works really well along with small patches of bait consisting of patricle blend, hemp and their own Blue oyester boilies

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities on site where as detailed, shower and cabin where very clean and there were cooking facilities in the static caravan for those who want to self cater.

Were you happy with them?

extremely happy with the facility's and the optional extra for the food package isn't to be missed.

would definitely be returning to this venue and will a first recommendation for anyone wanting slightly more difficult waters.

great venue, excellent food, not an easy lake to fish but if your after a challenge this is a great little venue to try.
