We fish boilies for the week both cell and Villefonds super tiger nut, both worked well. Bed of boilies with pop up rig worked best.Find the right spots and you will hook a monster (listen to Mark)

Details of your catches:

9 carp landed & 1 lost

42.5, 42, 41, 39, 37, 35, 34, 24, 22.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

A visual addition to the bait such as a fake corn seemed to work initially. If the carp move onto a natural food source then fake maggots or similar worked once when nothing else did. Carp takes were often finicky and so we slackened the drags right off to encorage the carp to take line.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, the facilities were detailed on the Angling lines website and were as described.

Were you happy with them?

Yes, we knew what to expect and the facilities met that requirement.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

If you want to catch loads of carp then no, if you want to target big fish then possibly yes but as there is so much natural food in the lake you need to pick the right week or else you will be struggling.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes, for a hassle free Fishing trip to France.

General Comments:

We caught 5 fish within the first 30 hours and things were looking good. Then we had a couple of days of cold weather and the lake switched off. When the weather improved the carp seemed to have totally lost interest in the same bait tactics which had previously proved so successful.

The carp are often very subtle and bites indicate more like a small bream than a carp as (we assume) they try to shake the hook rather than run.
