Details of your catches:
one baby carp of around 1 1/2lb on first night.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Didn't find the best tactics in the five nights i fished there. Majority of fish at other end of lake. Fished pegs 6/7 water level low. All fish came out of peg4 then peg 5. Had some occasional crashes in night at my end of lake. Wasn't on fish for majority of session so difficult. Tried most approaches but low water levels meant fish just weren't at that end of lake. Need wellys /waders to net fish without them becoming grounded when water levels low in pegs 6/7.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Facilities were good. John the owner very welcoming / offering constructive advice on tactics. Very clean at all times. Flushing toilet/ very efficient hot shower welcome. Boat with lifejacket at lake for prodding bottom/baiting up.
Were you happy with them?
Yes
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
I would recommend it to an experienced angler prioratising getting one good fish over catching loads. The fish are in there - you see them crashing out - its up to the angler to find a way to get a take. It goes with the territory that the carp aren't going to be evenly distributed around the lake. You need a good draw therefore and need to be prepared to work at it. At a different time of year, when water levels are higher , pegs 6/7 could well be a good choice. Peg 4 was the place to be when i visited and had been the week before also.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes. Very efficient with the added bonus of being able to change ferry times without extra cost.
General Comments:
I think Villefond is a very good lake with nice owners offering the very real possibility of a PB for a lot of anglers. It doesn't claim to be a runs water - if thats what someone wants theres plenty of other lakes to go to. Most of them won't offer the possibility of a 50+ common though. I enjoyed the challenge of fishing there. It would only have taken one take...

General Comments:
A brilliant big fish venue that I would recommend to anyone! This was actually only a 4 day trip, which was a shame as the fish were starting to feed. The owners, as on our previous visit, were very welcoming and friendly, and their information on the current form and tactics of the lake were spot on.

Details of your catches:
Paul winkled out a carp which was a 30+ in swim 6 and Dave has the other fish in peg 4 (deeper water). He had about 5 fish all thirties and a 41 common. It would have fished a lot better had we had the water levels better.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Paul caught on a single hook bait , we tried all sorts of tactics but nothing was working. All fish came out on Mainline cell. 15mm boilies.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, again we were unlucky as the caravan had fractured a gas leak and we were not able to use it. We had to use a freezer box as this was our only option so Mark had to supply ice blocks all the time. Generator was problematic too so hard to charge things and he took things to charge. it just was not a good week. disappointing over all. - A new mobile home is now on site since we went, but we had an unfortunate week.
Were you happy with them?
Not immensely it would It would have fished a lot better had we had the water levels better. we were unlucky re the other things.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, I would still recommend. It was a lovely lake and the owners couldn't have done more.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes, absolutely
General Comments:
The water levels were low and only 1 angler was catching in the deeper area and whilst the owner knows of a way to get high water levels it was too late for any action this year which didn't help us at all. Again due to the water conditions the lake was rife with algae.

General Comments:
the complex was as stated and very clean, the only down side we could comment on was not having a freezer on site for you to store your bait although the owners were very accomadating on bringing it to us as and when we needed it
