We had a great week, the weather was not great but the fish still fed. Between 3 of us and dad only fishing days and Heidi only fishing when she felt like it and sharing my rods. We managed 97 takes landing 87 fish to 37lb-12oz.

Dad had 34 carp to 35lb
John had 40 carp to 37lb-12oz
Heidi had 13 fish to 34lb-40z

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Heavy baiting tight to hook bait. We used carp company cranberry Caviar in 18mm and 14mm sizes

General Comments:

The owners of this venue are lovely people and so friendly, what a lovely family.

Details of your catches:

Mike 78 fish to 36 lb 8oz - 5 x 30s, 34 x 20s, the rest were doubles.

Kev 3 x 30’s to 35lb 10oz, 39 x 20s, 19 x doubles.

13 year old Rob who only fished now and again caught 13 Carp to 27lb.

Lynn caught 3 fish helping Kev out when he had double takes, her biggest going 21lb 10oz.

Kev spodded and it worked well as did scattering boilies loosely after takes.

General Comments:

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Vincons. Alice was a fantastic host and made us very welcome.

Details of your catches:

Around 40 fish - typically 18 to 24 lbs with 3 x 30's - the biggest being 35. Only fished part time in the day and no nights. The middle sized fish were very hard fighting. Certainly a runs water when you find the right spot, if you have a bait boat

Lakeside lodge was excellent. The pool was great and very necessary at the start of the week with temperatures in upper 30s. Alice and family were lovely

Over 2300lb of fish caught, 3-30's to 33lb, loads of 20's, fabulous week

Boilies over pellet and boilie, topping up after each fish

Were the facilities what you expected?

Our 2nd visit, gite still nice, lodge starting to look a bit run down, will need a bit of TLC soon before it gets too tatty. Still needs a bait fridge and freezer

Happy enough, with reservations as above

General Comments:

Great fishing, fish getting bigger, average size very good for a "runs" water. Lovely place, with just a little more work it would be 5 star
