I didn't fish every day and never managed to get to the lake before 8a.m. and left before dark but the time I did spend fishing was prolific. Boating to the far margin a mixture of coppens pellets, corn and a couple of handfuls of The Krill. I tried pop ups and bottom baits and found with the bottom baits was getting virtually instant takes. The only time the fishing slowed was when the wind direction switched.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, they were better than we could have hoped for. Ideal for a quiet family holiday with a bit of fishing. The pool was really nice on the hot sunny afternoons.

Were you happy with them?

Absolutely, the Gite / Cottage is perfect, very cozy and comfortable and a great place to chill out at the end of the day. The Lakeside lodge was very clean and a perfect base for fishing, having lunch then a dip in the pool.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Alice and her family are really welcoming and friendly people.
Yes, for a quiet family break in beautiful countryside, fishing for some hard fighting carp in great condition this venue is perfect. If you are looking for a runs water, this venue will fit the bill perfectly, but if you are after a larger average stamp of fish it may not be for you. All of the fish caught were in perfect condition.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

I have used Anglinglines many times over the years and have always been really impressed with their service.

General Comments:

Vincons is a beautiful place, the grounds and facilities are well looked after and the lake is very healthy with a huge stock of carp in perfect condition. The fishing was so prolific that i had a few double hook ups and runs while boating out my baits from a previous fish. There are a few larger fish in the lake for sure, I lost one while trying to net it on the first day but I could not get through the 20's, even when I took a rod off the spots I was fishing and chucked a single hook bait to mid-water, I was still pulling in 20's.
You wouldn't get much sleep here if you did fish nights, I could hear the carp crashing continuously at night across the corn field from the Gite which is a good 500 metres from the lake.
The lake has depths to 7ft by the outlet at the dam wall and slowly tapers up to 1ft at the far end.
We visited the local village Lignieres, Chateauroux and Bourges which were all worth checking out.

Details of your catches:

180 fish between 4 anglers, 5x30 to 31, at least 120 over 20 and the rest mix of doubles and singles but more doubles and i'd estimate another 30 fish lost.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Anything and everything we presented fished over particle and boilie, very hungry fish

Were the facilities what you expected?

Had the lodge and was great everything you need, however my only gripe would be that it needs a chest freezer for food and bait, as the ones above the 2 fridges are too small but Alice kindly cleared us a space in her own freezer.

General Comments:

Great runs water but in need of netting and smaller carp taking out to allow the other to grow. Alice is lovely and just left us fish

Details of your catches:

The weather was very hot and in the 30's for the first few days and the heat made the fishing tough. However, after a few days the weather cooled a touch and we managed to start getting amongst the fish.
We had 1 x 42lb (bottomed our scales and so will never know its true weight!!)

3 upper twenties - 1 x 29, 1 x 27, 1 x 26
7 x 20-25
5 x 15-19
32 fish overall for a combined weight of 560lb and an average of 16lb 10 oz. (We last fished here 28th July 2012 and had 80 fish for an average weight of 12.5lb - the fish had definitely put weight on and this time we had upper twenties, a 30 and a 40.)

Overall numbers were lower but this was probably down to the heat - which the girls loved as they spent all their time in the pool!

A range of tactics worked with the majority of the big fish coming to G-Kraye or over a bed of G-Kraye
We found due to the heat that it was best to fish early morning or in the evening and in to darkness.
This time we struggled to get many bites from the lodge area - it is probably the most pressured area of the lake and the heat didn't help the fishing.
However, with the lake to ourselves it was fantastic to be able to wander the banks, fish spotting, baiting up and fishing a range of spots of our choice - it felt like our own piece of heaven.

Were the facilities what you expected?

We stayed in lodge and it was perfect for our needs. The weather was fantastic and the pool got a lot of use. It was the perfect covid lockdown holiday and are were blessed that the Bouchet's share their fishing lake and allow us to holiday there. Alice looked after us and left us to get on with it. Due to covid we stayed on site for the majority of the week other than a supermarket trip and the Tuesday morning market at St Aout which is worth a visit.

Fishing was slow due to cool winds but managed 4 thirty plus, 25 over twenty and 10 doubles.

Monster crab and virus boilies, more fish in shallow water at far end of lake.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Lovely place, very clean, did have a lot of flies in lodge which were a nuisance, but no real complaints.
