Details of your catches:

180 fish between 4 anglers, 5x30 to 31, at least 120 over 20 and the rest mix of doubles and singles but more doubles and i'd estimate another 30 fish lost.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Anything and everything we presented fished over particle and boilie, very hungry fish

Were the facilities what you expected?

Had the lodge and was great everything you need, however my only gripe would be that it needs a chest freezer for food and bait, as the ones above the 2 fridges are too small but Alice kindly cleared us a space in her own freezer.

Were you happy with them?

Yes as above

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes indeed been using Angling Lines for around 10 years and always spot on and helpful

General Comments:

Great runs water but in need of netting and smaller carp taking out to allow the other to grow. Alice is lovely and just left us fish

Details of your catches:

The weather was very hot and in the 30's for the first few days and the heat made the fishing tough. However, after a few days the weather cooled a touch and we managed to start getting amongst the fish. We had 1 x 42lb (bottomed our scales and so will never know its true weight!!) 1x30 3 upper twenties - 1 x 29, 1 x 27, 1 x 26 7 x 20-25 5 x 15-19 32 fish overall for a combined weight of 560lb and an average of 16lb 10 oz. (We last fished here 28th July 2012 and had 80 fish for an average weight of 12.5lb - the fish had definitely put weight on and this time we had upper twenties, a 30 and a 40.) Overall numbers were lower but this was probably down to the heat - which the girls loved as they spent all their time in the pool!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Bait Guru G-Kraye topped with essential fruit tippers Tiger nut over Bait Guru Jungle DNA Secret 7 PVA bags of pellet/Bait Guru 12mm G-Kraye boilies Float fishing the margins A range of tactics worked with the majority of the big fish coming to G-Kraye or over a bed of G-Kraye We found due to the heat that it was best to fish early morning or in the evening and in to darkness. This time we struggled to get many bites from the lodge area - it is probably the most pressured area of the lake and the heat didn't help the fishing. However, with the lake to ourselves it was fantastic to be able to wander the banks, fish spotting, baiting up and fishing a range of spots of our choice - it felt like our own piece of heaven.

Were the facilities what you expected?

We stayed in lodge and it was perfect for our needs. The weather was fantastic and the pool got a lot of use. It was the perfect covid lockdown holiday and are were blessed that the Bouchet's share their fishing lake and allow us to holiday there. Alice looked after us and left us to get on with it. Due to covid we stayed on site for the majority of the week other than a supermarket trip and the Tuesday morning market at St Aout which is worth a visit.

Details of your catches:

Fishing was slow due to cool winds but managed 4 thirty plus, 25 over twenty and 10 doubles.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Monster crab and virus boilies, more fish in shallow water at far end of lake.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Lovely place, very clean, did have a lot of flies in lodge which were a nuisance, but no real complaints.

Were you happy with them?

Yes fine.

Details of your catches:

Took our 2 sons to experience some French Carp Fishing - we landed 106 Carp. 8 over 30lb with the 2 biggest weighing at 35lb+. 52 x 20lb+ fish and 40 odd double figure fish. We only used 2 sets of rods and didn't night fish. The Bivvies remained in the van.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Dont get hung up on needing a bait boat, whilst we had one the action was so prolific it was faster to get the rods back out by casting. Loose regular feeding kept the fish coming all day. The water can be very prolific, so personally would recommend at least 2 landing nets in the swim as double takes were a common occurance, along with buckets of water. We did move around the lake and found some great little spots. Having 10ft rods was a real bonus as we were able to get into areas, where you couldn't cast with 12ft rods.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The whole experience was awesome. I have never been on a lake before that was so clean, there was no sign of any rubbish around the lake. The fishing lodge has all you needed, we stayed in the lodge for 4 nights but were truly spoilt with the gite, so it won for the last 3 nights. The gite certainly has WOW factor and we feel lucky to have stayed there and it allowed us to explore the area. The swimming pool was an asset that was used daily by the kids and we ventured in when the sun was beating down.

Were you happy with them?

Yes and there are BBQ's available at the lodge

General Comments:

Alice was away on her holidays when we arrived and her mother looked after us fabulously. The owners were always available in the background and it was only towards the end of the holiday Alice popped up to the Lodge to see how we were doing. Liginere's is a lovely little village with a supermarket that opens 7 days a week, but closes between 12 and 3, which also coincides with a quiet time on the lake front. There is a crazy french lady with a burger van as you go into the village a few days of the week, where you can pick the farm where the beef has come from for your burgers, they are outstanding. Les Troix Perdix in the village centre is well worth a vist for a meal and unbelievably the owners are scotts. A lovely holiday was had by all.
