General Comments:

As much as I enjoyed my trip the pool the lodge and Alice was lovely. However my first fish was 25lb so I was buzzing but over the week I only caught another 8 fish average weight 12lb the problem is one there is cray fish in there constantly nibbling at my bait and I wasn't aware they were in there also speaking to Alice she said they not had many anglers over last 18 months obviously with covid but the problem is they need to keep feeding the fish so they don't start feeding on natural baits and this is what they must be doing I strongly suggest they feed them with pellets whilst no one fishing and over the winter to keep them interested and keeping there weight on and also maybe get a few cat fish to eat the cray fish but that's just my opinion. As Alice said no one fishes in there family so to me they just need some advice on how to make it better as it has a lot off potential but overall I had a nice relaxing time, thanks Spencer moore

Halibut pellets and bright pop-ups worked well. Fishing to where the carp were showing and don't disregard the shallows!

Been to this lake a few times now, and always forget just how good the facilities are!

Were you happy with them?

Facilities are brilliant! Lakeside cottage has everything you could possibly need and very clean. Swimming pool is also great and such a big positive for this venue and only a few yards from the lake!

Would highly recommend this venue to anyone! Great for hardcore anglers, beginners and those just wanting a family fishing holiday.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I didn't fish every day and never managed to get to the lake before 8a.m. and left before dark but the time I did spend fishing was prolific. Boating to the far margin a mixture of coppens pellets, corn and a couple of handfuls of The Krill. I tried pop ups and bottom baits and found with the bottom baits was getting virtually instant takes. The only time the fishing slowed was when the wind direction switched.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, they were better than we could have hoped for. Ideal for a quiet family holiday with a bit of fishing. The pool was really nice on the hot sunny afternoons.

Were you happy with them?

Absolutely, the Gite / Cottage is perfect, very cozy and comfortable and a great place to chill out at the end of the day. The Lakeside lodge was very clean and a perfect base for fishing, having lunch then a dip in the pool.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Alice and her family are really welcoming and friendly people. Yes, for a quiet family break in beautiful countryside, fishing for some hard fighting carp in great condition this venue is perfect. If you are looking for a runs water, this venue will fit the bill perfectly, but if you are after a larger average stamp of fish it may not be for you. All of the fish caught were in perfect condition.

I have used Anglinglines many times over the years and have always been really impressed with their service.

General Comments:

Vincons is a beautiful place, the grounds and facilities are well looked after and the lake is very healthy with a huge stock of carp in perfect condition. The fishing was so prolific that i had a few double hook ups and runs while boating out my baits from a previous fish. There are a few larger fish in the lake for sure, I lost one while trying to net it on the first day but I could not get through the 20's, even when I took a rod off the spots I was fishing and chucked a single hook bait to mid-water, I was still pulling in 20's. You wouldn't get much sleep here if you did fish nights, I could hear the carp crashing continuously at night across the corn field from the Gite which is a good 500 metres from the lake. The lake has depths to 7ft by the outlet at the dam wall and slowly tapers up to 1ft at the far end. We visited the local village Lignieres, Chateauroux and Bourges which were all worth checking out.
