Five mirror carp 10lb, 26lbs, 28lbs, 30lb and 30lb 8oz, 1 sturgeon 42lbs and 7 bream. Four fish were lost. Good quality fish.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Best tactics, caught on tigers and pop up boilies. Tried various tactics to bring the fish on but as it was just so cold, they were having none of it.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, facilities were clean as always.

Were you happy with them?

Yes, the hose in the shower block broke while we were there so we replaced it. The fridge/freezer was ample.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, nice lake, can drive all round other than if there is loads of rain and then the tracks are a problem.

General Comments:

The only negative was, when we arrived and had spoken to the owner before we arrived, no one came to meet us. We were able to get into the lake gates but we were unable to get into the facilities for about 4 hours to use the loo and get water.

**Angling Lines note - We spoke to Sebastien about this, because of the distances involved it is not possible for someone to be there to meet anglers on arrival. However Sebastien said that he or one of his team always visit the lake as soon as possible every Saturday once he knows that the anglers have arrived. Sebastien acknowledges that occasionally he is delayed and this was one of those occasions. He apologises for any inconvenience this caused. He has also stated that he will leave the WC/Shower room open on arrival day so this problem won't reoccur.**

We tried everything. It was just too cold. Dropping to -4 in the night. Wouldn't go back that early in the year but love this lake when it's warm.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities are great. I'm slim so don't have a problem with the toilet. No complaints at all.

Second time at this lake. Fished here Sept 2013 and best mirror 34lb, best common 33.5lb and a 120lb catfish. This time was just too cold. We were the first on for the year and would go again but only when it's warm

Great Lake, great facilities and nice people

40+ Fish largest being 44lb Sturgeon and 40lb 2oz Mirror Carp..

BOILIES over pellet and particle. Deeper water was more productive this late on in the year although a few carp were picked off in the shallows whilst stalking..

Definitely...Maybe better off earlier in the year as weather was challenging!

General Comments:

Weather made things difficult at times but Blue Lake is well worth a visit. Lots of hard fighting fish and beautiful surroundings make it one of my favourite Angling Lines venues.
