Blue Lake has matured quickly since my first visit last summer. The large double swims are now grass covered and fish numbers increased substantially following the winter stocking. The facilities are good and immaculately clean

We moved 3 times during the week. The weather was like winter at the start of the week and summer at the end!

Were the facilities what you expected?

Details of your catches:

Around 45 carp in total. The weather was cold and wet at the start of the week with overcast days, but it was good fishing conditions and I was catching through the day. Tuesday 20th was a great day & saw me put 11 fish on the bank to 35lb. As the week progressed the days were hot and the nights were cold which put the fish off a bit with hardly any fish caught in the day - but night time was still busy.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

All sebastians stocked fish were fed on maize mainly and suplimented with carp pellets which he is happy to supply for you. I had 5kg of maize from him which I used in my spod mix (50% hemp, 30% trout pellet, 20% maize). Now for bait, I would like to thank Paul Cooper for bringing to my attention the quality baits hg range on his "Planning a trip to Blue Lake" video diary. Fantastic bait which i will be using in the future! I took with me 10kg of hg42 (5 each of 15mm and 20mm) and the same in hg47. Simon of quality bait over made my order by 3kg which he gave to me free. Cheers. I also took matching pop ups and a glug. My fingers are still stained from it! lol! For my spodding i took 40kg of prepared hemp and 30 kg trout pellet 10kg carp pellet and 10kg ground bait and 20tins of corn. Alot i know but i guessed the lake would fish its head off so im glad i did. Better to have it and not need it was my thinking. All fish were taken at 60 yards straight out in front of swim 2 in 6ft of water at the top of the shelf from deep water to my right. I split up my bait into daily amounts 3kg of hg and 15kg spod and that went into my swim daily if i was catching or not. I honestly think that if more bait was used then more fish would have been caught. On friday 23rd (last night) i was down to my last few boilies and last bucket of spod mix. I was stretching my bait out to last half way through the week because the greedy fish in Blue Lake!

Were the facilities what you expected?

I would say the facilities are a little basic but were suitable. If i could make any suggestions then a freezer for bait would be useful. Sebastian was a real help and would gladly spend some time with you on the bank talking about his lake as he's after feed back from anglers as much as anglers want to pick his brains about the fish in his lake. His english is good too!

Were you happy with them?

As you can see from the pics i had an amazing weeks fishing and was well worn out come the end of the week. Blue lake is a fantastic lake with a massive stock of fish and i would suggest a ideal place for a first france trip.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, definitely

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes, definitely
