Were the facilities what you expected?

Very basic but was fine

Were you happy with them?

They where ok

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

On my experience of blue lake I wouldn't due to the lack of fish coming out for all 8 anglers on that week was very poor seen as its listed as a runs water. Also they could do with some rat catchers as my friend was plaqued with them getting in to his bivvy .

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Service from angling lines was great everythink ran smoothly

General Comments:

- Very poor fishing
- Lake could do with tidy up due to trees snapping due to weather
*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. We’re very sorry for the difficult conditions at Blue Lake which made the fishing slow. Owner Sebastien has confirmed maintenance will be carried out over the closed winter period.

Details of your catches:

32lb 6 common and lost 2 - overall very slow fishing with only 11 coming out all week from the 8 anglers. Unlucky with the weather that week (poor fishing all over the region)

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Snowman with pink popup

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, very basic but everything you need

Were you happy with them?

Yes, adequate for what you need. Plenty of fridge / freezer space, charging points and ample hot water.

Not as it is, a large tree (20" diameter) came down in my swim as I was setting up wiping out my bivvy, crushing all my kit. Had to run out of the bivvy to avoid it. Rats & mice (numbers) are unbelievable. You always see a few when fishing, but this was next level, even out during the day. Coypu was a real pain going through my lines at night. Also, the bailiff’s one and only visit on the Thursday afternoon, visited and spoke to everyone on the lake, but chose to ignore me in swim 2 (not what you would expect considering the events with the tree). Although credit to Cyril, who came to remove the tree, he was very apologetic and also brought a spare bivvy if I needed it.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes, Angling Lines have been very good from getting a response from the lake owners when it happened to handling my complaint and getting funds reimbursed for the bivvy and other damaged kit. AL also compensated for the lost time fishing.

General Comments:

Very disappointed with what happened (in my opinion there are many dangerous trees at this venue due to lack of maintenance), the response from the owners was not great. Over 2hrs after reporting the incident, had no response, so I had to call AL emergency number to get them to come and sort the tree which was another 2Hrs before they finally turned up.
Also, being ignored on the one and only time they visited the lake is not how you treat customers. The lake is good but needs some maintenance asap due to the number of trees falling and the general appearance and upkeep of the swims.
Rodents also need sorting, never seen anything like it. They say that they are 'actively managing' although no signs of traps or baiting stations at this venue to try and manage the numbers.

*Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. The tree fall was an unfortunate and frightening incident, and we completely understand how upsetting it must have been. The owners took the matter seriously from the moment they were informed - the only delay was due to the logistics of collecting equipment to safely remove the tree and also a replacement bivvy to offer you. This was communicated at the time, and we appreciate your patience. Regular tree work is carried out each February at Blue Lake, and while weather-related incidents can’t always be predicted, a full survey was completed following this event.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

The lake fished ok up to mid week, the weather wasn’t the best throughout the trip! We were fishing peg 6 & 7. We found the best tactics was on snowman rigs with Ronnies rig using a sweet hook bait oven a bed of boilies / particles, with sweet glugs rather than krill or fish meals.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, the facilities was what we expected, very similar to Lepinet lake. Plenty of freezer space and fridge space for your food.

Were you happy with them?

Starting to get a little bit tired, ready for a makeover

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Definitely, this isn’t the first time we’ve been with Angling Lines and if an issue arises you have the answer or sort them out, nothing seems to be too much trouble for you!!

General Comments:

We’ll definitely use Angling Lines in the future, we are already looking forward to booking again!!
