Very difficult week with very low water levels and lots of very active crayfish. Made worse by very hot weather interspersed with storms. Managed to catch 14 fish from the lake, 2 grass carp from the stock pond and a number of chub to 5lbs from the river. From the lake: Mirrors: 2x48lbs 2x42lbs 1x38lbs 1x37lbs 2x25lbs 1x21.5lbs and1x20lbs Grass 1x47lbs and 1x31lbs Commons/ Koi 1x22.5lbs 1x20lbs

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Fishing away from the margins in open water with lake or sticky boilies. D rigs or blowback rigs tipped with fake corn.

The facilities were exactly as described

Were you happy with them?

The lodges are exceptional with plenty of space and good beds. The shower was also very good but the kitchen a bit lacking in facilities especially with little preparation surfaces.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

With the current lake condition it is difficult to recommend this venue but if you a happy to catch a few large fish it will suit you.

We have used Angling Lines for over 10 years, the service is always first class

Anything that beat the crayfish .. 1 fish between 2 people says it all.. 6 fish between 4 people whole week..

General Comments:

Great facilities.. unfortunately not matched by the lake. Lake 2ft down cos of heat.. no aeration so water warm.. crayfish a big problem and eat all baits .. they will destroy lake unless it’s sorted… *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback and we appreciate the lake fished hard on your week. The crayfish population is managed with traps throughout the season, although we appreciate with the hot weather that they have been very active.

Fishing was harder than normal due to weather being un-favorable, that said we had 17 fish over the week between us, including numerous 20's, two 30's, two 40's and one over 50

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Most fish came to fake corn and smaller boilies (armour wrapped to avoid crayfish issues). Picked our spots where fish were showing and fed little and often with Brunos partimix and crushed boilie.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Excellent. Cabins were clean and comfortable, as was the shower and toilet. BBQ with each cabin along with large unhooking mat / cradle
