There was a group of 3 of us for a week. We finished with 47 carp between us ranging from low twenties to the biggest being 43.13lb mirror

Crayfish were a bit of a pain eating our hookbaits so we changed all rods to yellow dunbell pop ups which worked really well

General Comments:

Bruno, the owner of the lake is really helpful and easy going. we will definitely be booking either deux iles again next time or his other lake which is twice the size.

Details of your catches:

17 fish between 2 (on the left hand side of island) throughout the week. Fish were split equally between us with 8 & 9 fish. 3 x 30's to 36 & 14 x 20's. The weather was very very hot (up to 38 degrees) so fishing throughout the day was very slow. Bites were either early morning pre 9AM or after 8PM. Bruno was very helpful and popped round often to check out how we were getting on and point us in the right direction. Crayfish were very prudent so definitely take plastic baits as that is the only things we could keep in the water long enough for a bite.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Plastic baits, tiger nuts & particle mix. As soon as any boilies were introduced, the crayfish became very active. All fish come to plastic bottom baits/ wafters.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilitates are great, the cabin is a great way to get out of the sun and the shower block is a lovely short walk away to cool off in the mornings & evening.

Were you happy with them?

Yes, will definitely be returning to search out and catch some of the bigger fish!

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes - 100% we will be rebooking for next year more than likely on an exclusive basis with a couple more friends.

Yes, booking the holiday was super easy and convenient. You were brilliant throughout COVID too as our trip had to be cancelled but choosing a new date was hassle free and easy.
