Deciding on a break over new years I wasn't expecting to catch much if at all. I travelled with the wife and planned on sightseeing during the days and fishing during the nights. I caught the big sturgeon (twice) a 32lb common, two low twenties and lost one. DEFINITELY more bites to be be had tho had I fished the days. Also the storm that seemed to last all week didn't do me any favours lol

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Best tactics for me were solid bags stuffed with maggots and crumb to showing fish.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Awesome awesome facilities. Best shower I have used in France. The lodges are awesome though I would rather have fished from my brolly but it was a break away with the wife so fishing came second. Electricity worked all week- absolutely no issues, well kept and perfect.

Were you happy with them?

Massively impressed

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

100% yes. Bruno is an awesome host who couldn't do enough for us. His english is really good and he will do anything to put you onto fish. The town is a ten minute dvive (if that) with a big cheap supermarket and the lake is easy to find.

No catches. We had a sudden drop in temperature after the second day - although we’re not using that as an excuse.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We used a number of different tactics throughout the week. From single baits, which we used at the beginning of the week, to small compact beds of baits. We used Sticky Manilla and Quest Questrami, but nothing worked for us.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Having fished in France for over 20 years, the facilities were the best we’ve ever seen in France. Bruno has really thought about a comfortable fishing environment for both fishermen and non fishing guests.

General Comments:

Bruno met us on our arrival and was genuinely interested in what and where we had fished previously. He spoke incredibly good English, which made the whole experience better. The fishing was very challenging, but the lake that he has developed was truly awesome. In a few years, when all the trees have matured, it will be a spectacular place to fish. This will be one of the best lakes with Angling Lines.

Difficult start to the week very hot till Wednesday, after that we had 10 carp to 28lb

Nice and clean shower and toilet. Cabins really nice but we used bivvys

Details of your catches:

I unfortunately only had 1 carp of 19lb, my friend finished up having around a dozen up to 40lb losing several more, his fish all came from the boat launching area where the water was shallower and we believe had a gravel area.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

No specific tactics was used a short hook length with a longer hair, pop ups seemed to be best when the fish was feeding any good bait will work

Were the facilities what you expected?

Really 1st class facilities. Bruno has worked really hard on the fishery to get it to what it is today. It will look even better when the fishery matures in a few years

Overall very impressed just not convinced about the number of fish that is in there. Only time will tell
