Steady week with 14 fish in total - 2 doubles, 10 twenties, & 2 thirties. The thirties being 34lb Grass Carp & 34lb 8oz Mirror Carp.
Fish were still gathered in the deeper water and feeding lightly.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Fishing over around a handful of mixed maize, pellet and chopped boilie, snowman with yellow tipped, garlic krill lake bait, pink pop ups, or wafters. Garlic flavourings with the baits proving successful, only the Grassy falling to Pineapple bait.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Very good, couldn't really fault anything.

Were you happy with them?

Definitely, really nice location, well appointed cabin, absolutely great.

Yes without a doubt. Perfect for small group or couple.

Already have, have booked with you for a good number of years, service is perfect.

General Comments:

Really great venue, food package was amazing, really looked after Jen being a vegetarian. Enjoyed so much we were already planning to return before we had left, and now booked for next year. Hopefully the bigger fish will come out to play.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Gary’s inferno, snowman and round wafters on a multi-rig. Positioned close to the trees.
Always put a rod out in the middle of the lake at night from the accommodation!!
Gary is very approachable and very helpful with a wealth of knowledge.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities are excellent the lake is stunning and the location peaceful and tranquil.
We went into the local Town to a great supermarket for some drinks for the fridge it’s less than 10 minutes away.
The accommodation is perfect for a week’s fishing. Decent sized bedrooms and it’s always nice to have a good fridge for your clod drinks. Great having your meals overlooking the lake.
There was only 1 fishing and the non-angler enjoyed the peace, sun and the sun bed provided.
The food was excellent. The full English breakfast is large very well cooked and sets you up for the day and the evening meal again is quality finished off with a lovely desert.

Were you happy with them?

Gary and Angeline were fantastic hosts, providing quality fishing, food and a venue. What’s really nice is the couple just let you get on with your holiday but are always available to help.
Every Thursday they put on a BBQ which everyone enjoyed with superb food and a beer.

Would definitely recommend to friends and will be coming back. For me that says it all!

Exactly what we expected, everything we needed

Were you happy with them?

Facilities and surroundings are perfect, it’s a great venue to be at for a week (or longer) and everything you need is there.
For us this week was slower than normal as the carp had only recently finished spawning (and actually had another go midweek)…. But we still had a great time and I’m looking forward to my next trip in August.

Details of your catches:

21 fish, a good return considering the bigger fish were spawning. Gary told us the smaller fish had spawned and sure enough the majority of our fish were between the 20 and 25 lb mark, highlights included a 30lb grass carp, a couple of upper 20s, a 30lb immaculate common and a new PB for John of a spawned out 48.8 mirror.

Again I have recommended Angling Lines to others, the lovely ladies do a fantastic job, the service is second to none

General Comments:

2nd visit, welcomed like old friends. Gary was honest from the start as to what we could expect from the fishing, and he was bang on.

The food package is incredible, hot, plentiful and absolutely delicious... thank you Ange so so much.

All in all and enjoyable if challenging week with brilliant friendly hosts... 100% would recommend this fantastic venue
