Definitely, this place is an absolute gem and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to go. The hosts Lionel and Veronique could probably be the nicest people I have ever met, they were on hand every day if any problems occurred and showered us with free gifts from the local area including wines, pastries, beers and also some bait when ours didn't seem to be working too well. The new additions of a hut on one of the swims was brilliant and also being able to fish the stock pond helped to fill any quiet gaps and made for some great sport. We had a tough time with the weather going really cold but when it warmed up the fish turned on and I am sure with a few more days we would have had a lot more larger fish to show. Please please don't over look Heart Lake, it really is a brilliant place to stay and fish.

We tried all sorts - boilies, tiger nuts, spodding, single baits, beds of boilies etc. Maybe only the single baits with a handful of free offerings were slightly better. The weather was atrocious with 40/50mph winds and torrential rain most days which seemed to put the fish down. However, they were all in superb condition with no mouth damage and fought well.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The facilities were very good. There is no oven but there was everything else you could expect including a toaster, microwave, large fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The toilet and shower are in a separate block a few yards away and are very good - clean and modern. There is a large Hyper U a few miles away, plus a smaller (and easier to use!!) Super U for shopping. Landing nets, weigh/retainer slings and cradles were provided which saved a lot of space in the cars.

We were very happy with everything.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes. Lionel and Veronique are lovely people and couldn't do enough for us. We would definitely recommend Heart Lake and our party of 6 thoroughly enjoyed themselves despite the weather. We hope to go back next year.
