I used the owner's ground bait, but used my own boilies.
Star baits hot demon as I find this works the best in French fishing lakes.

the facilities were very good. Clean & tidy hot water for shower.

Details of your catches:

17 carp in total (including 2 grass carp); of these the best fish was a 46 pound common carp and I caught 7 thirties.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Fishing to the far margins (not the island); hookbaits were hardened boilies to combat the crayfish plus baited the spots with boilies, pellets and particles. I'm glad I took Constant's advice and fished with snag leaders from the start; there are some areas of gravel bars with a lot of zebra mussels and the shock leaders showed signs of abrasion.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes; very useful having the cabin and shower block reducing the amount of kit needed and providing great shelter from the sun on the hot days.

Were you happy with them?

Yes all good.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, great to have a venue where you can fish and bait as you see fit without worrying about the amount of bait other anglers are using. The fishing was good and I only fished one night as most of the bites were coming during daylight hours. This was despite the sunny weather and air temperatures in excess of 30 degrees for over half the week.

Yes been using Angling Lines for nearly ten years and very pleased with their service.

General Comments:

Very happy with my week at ILOT and the owner Constant was very helpful. I used his baits and they worked well. I have already booked to go again in 2026.

Details of your catches:

Five fish; 16lb, 20lb, 31lb, 33lb and a cracking 47lb.
Fish were on the verge of spawning.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Started with yellow pop ups, nothing. Switched to 18mm hardened (crayfish a nuisance) boilie, better results!
Quite snaggy, stay away from the island and not too close to the margins. Without the inflatable we would have lost more tackle than we did. Take Constant’s advice, (who by the way was a great host as was his bailiff, sorting out any issues promptly) especially with regards to using a long heavy leader. Mussels!

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. Basic but perfectly adequate. Was great to have a cabin with a small kitchen and toilet block (with storage space) right by the swim.
Thought the substrate under foot was a strange choice.

Were you happy with them?

Yes. A bit of luxury.

Details of your catches:

14 fish between us. All beautiful, pristine fish including 2 x 50's! The rest were all high 20's into the 30's.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Very light feeding - handful or so over each bait.
We used particle mixed with cell and link with house pellet. Sweet flavoured hook baits (pineapple, banoffee, manilla). The far margin beyond the island produced almost all of the fish - we hired their boat and I recommend it.

Facilities were perfect for 2.
Cabin is a great idea - just bring a sleeping bag!

General Comments:

This is a really good lake! Loads of water for 2 to fish. Fishing is straight forward, we had some nice weather and it fished well. Both of us came away with new PBs.
Supermarket is less than 10 mins drive away.
Perfect choice if there's just 2 of you.
