Details of your catches:

14 fish between us. All beautiful, pristine fish including 2 x 50's! The rest were all high 20's into the 30's.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Very light feeding - handful or so over each bait.
We used particle mixed with cell and link with house pellet. Sweet flavoured hook baits (pineapple, banoffee, manilla). The far margin beyond the island produced almost all of the fish - we hired their boat and I recommend it.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were perfect for 2.
Cabin is a great idea - just bring a sleeping bag!

General Comments:

This is a really good lake! Loads of water for 2 to fish. Fishing is straight forward, we had some nice weather and it fished well. Both of us came away with new PBs.
Supermarket is less than 10 mins drive away.
Perfect choice if there's just 2 of you.

Details of your catches:

Very poor weather for half the week but despite that the carp showed, as soon as the weather turned catching 4 carp between 32 & 21lb. Also lost one of the biggest of the lake just as about to land.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Far side of the island on Ronnie rigs snowman style, nothing close in or right hand bank. Carp all showing on far side which gets the first sun each day.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were decent, despite no heater it shields you from worst of weather. Would be cramped for more than 2 but right on the lake edge to jump on the bites straight from bed.

Were you happy with them?

Fair, standard and although reasonably basic everything is there you need.

General Comments:

Think this will prove to be a gem of a lake, I was unfortunate with the weather but still caught despite high water and very cold for half a week. Saw 2 crayfish but both on my line and bait not touched but would need to protect probably in the warmer months.

4 carp caught in a very challenging week due to very cold front that changed on the Tuesday

Past the island to the right and left with stiff hinge rig pop ups. All the fish congregate at the far side of the venue
