General Comments:

Heatwave made the facilities and fishing quite a challenge but picturesque lake and lots of wildlife

Details of your catches:

Unfortunately the fish were not interested in being caught the week we visited. The suspicion is that they are getting ready to spawn and despite our best efforts and the good advice of Fabian, the lake owner, it was a blank this week.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Armoured bollies with pop up at various depths, similarly with tiger nut and pop ups. Fed with particle, hemp and pellet and copious quantities of free offered bollies.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were fabulous. The accommodation huts were great and had mains power and lighting, were reasonably sound proof (essential since one of our members was snoring for England) with a nice flat solid base which was level. This significantly cut down on what we had to bring with us (no bivvy necessary) shower and loo were nice and clean and the available fridge/freezer was a god send.

Were you happy with them?

Very happy - Fabian and his wife went above and beyond to accommodate us and were very friendly. Fabian didn’t stop suggesting new spots, methods or baits in an effort to get that elusive catch.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Definitely would recommend, indeed despite not catching on this trip I have begun planning another, but for later in the year when the fish have finished with their “sexy times”!

Yes, Been with Angling Lines for nearly 15 years with as many trips under our belt. They have always been most helpful.

General Comments:

Don’t be put off Linstant by the lack of catches we’ve had to report - the lake is beautiful with loads of features and incredibly friendly owner and his family. The lake is clearly teaming with fish, some very interesting looking Koi and other varieties too. We are returning without a doubt, this week we have just been unlucky.

Details of your catches:

On my final day at Linstant I caught a 41lb carp on a plastic pop-up. It was a difficult weeks fishing with very little movement and not many clues to go on. Having a bait boat definitely saved the day, enabling me to accurately feed let and often. The weather was a even mixture of overcast and sunshine and was very warm all week.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Pop-up on a stiff rig, due to large aggressive crayfish. small amounts of pellet regularly (available from the owner). Tried various types of real pop-ups and boilie but they were all eaten by crayfish in a very short time.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were exactly as described and everything you need. Cabin for the non-fishing partner is very comfortable. The toilet is is away from the cabin and fishing pods.

Were you happy with them?

The facilities were exactly what was needed for a weeks fishing. The lake is amazing and well cared for by Fabien the owner, who was a top host. Will definitely be going back.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Recommend the venue for a lake exclusive. Big enough to challenge any fisherman but not too big to overwhelm.

Definitely recommend!

General Comments:

Fabien and family have produced a stunningly beautiful venue and the lakeside pods with power etc. are a great addition.
I also took the optional cabin which is perfect for a comfortable nights sleep.
Despite quite a few lumps teasing me in the margins, the fish really did have other things on their mind, however i've seen enough to make me want to return.
