General Comments:

This lake was lovely and we will return, not only is the lake perfect for a weeks fishing but the owner Fabien and his family are the perfect hosts, we will definitely be coming back.

Details of your catches:

We caught 23 carp with an average of 27lb. We had 4x Doubles (inc Koi), 12 x 20s, 5 x 30s and 2 x 40s (3 40s landed but 1 repeat). Plenty of Tench and Roach on the float

Fishing pop ups over 2/3 hand fulls of boilies/corn

Were the facilities what you expected?

They were better than we expected - also very clean

More than happy, the weather was not great but we were still very comfortable

100% - great place for a trip to France

Yes - we upgraded our ferry crossing midway through and angling lines sorted this with no hassle and everything else was very easy and efficient

Fabian and his family were brilliant; accommodating, friendly and helpful - a brilliant trip for us and would recommend this place to anyone wanting a trip to France

We had 3 carp from 18lb to 26lb, we also caught several large roach and a 5lb pike

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

When we arrived the lake was 18 inch over depth it was and had been raining for last 4 months everywhere seemed flooded when driving to venue. Rain stopped and water level dropped but the amount of cold and dirty water coming into the lake didn’t help

Were the facilities what you expected?

I love the facilities it’s my second visit and I chose this venue so early in season because of the facilities.
The temperature dropped to zero a couple of nights but once the doors are shut in your cabin it’s lovely, warm very snug.

General Comments:

Fabien and his family are great hosts. The improvements and plans going forward will make this an even better venue in the future.
I know that fishing is very hard March time with low temperatures and weather hit n miss.
The carp are usually very dormant this time of year so we didn’t expect to catch many.
All the hard work paid off and we were rewarded with stunning carp.
We caught carp, roach and even a pike stalking using freelined worms.
The roach are huge would be worth taking a float rod too if you like to course fish while awaiting a carp run.

8 takes, 6 carp landed up to 32lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Small handfuls of bait fishing into the weed and in the margins by the fallen tree. Don’t overfeed the fish to begin with, take walks and explore the margins, they love to sit in the weed in the middle of the lake so don’t be afraid to drop a rig here too. Use the boat to free the fish from the weed if they get stuck and don’t be afraid to ask Fabien if you need anything!

This venue is great for anglers looking to travel light and have all the comforts of home at the lake side! Great hosts, lovely carp and beautiful peaceful surroundings.
