Details of your catches:

the fishing was good, it was our first fishing holiday. We caught mainly grass crap, but also some mirror and common carp. We caught some small bream (skimmers). the fish caught weighted from 2lb up to 25Lb. the average weight was 10-15LB. the biggest was a common carp and the next biggest was a grss carp. We fish all the time in front of the house next year we might venture to the other bank.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

the best baits were Quest raja spice and the trout pellett for all types of fishing. Giles was a great help for all aspects of fishing espically the baits and best spots for fish.

Were the facilities what you expected?

better than expected, ideal for a family. Everything you need was on site. lesley was very hlpful about places to go, shops, resturants etc.

General Comments:

We are a family of four to keep the children company our daughter brought her boyfriend and our son brought his cousin.They ranged in age from 15 to 20. My husband, son and nephew were the fishermen, but we all had the best holiday ever.The facilities are excellent for families ( care would need to be taken with toddlers). the weather was fab, the local village was approx 5 miles away and you could get everything you wanted there. There was also farmers markets in different villages daily where you could buy fresh local produce cheaply.You need a car to get around as it is quite remote, but we found this not to be a problem at all. the city of Agen was about 30mins drive and had a music festival that week. Lesley and Giles were lovely hosts, they were there if we needed anything and Giles was great with the kids he even stayed up one night with them night fishing. We would reccomend this venue to any family for a holiday even if they are not hardened fishermen or women.

Details of your catches:

17 Carp caught. 3 Pb's for Eoin 30lbs Common, Paddy 25lbs Mirror and Tom 17.5lbs Grass carp. Rest of carp caught were upper doubles and low 20's.Also ladies had pb's on bream and roach for 1st time fishing and there was a few bass caught on lures.

Everything i tried work from single hook baits to snowmen single pop ups and bottom baits.

General Comments:

Lesley and Gilles were great made us feel at home at their lovely venue. Fishing made harder with the noise around the house and at the pool. Caught mainly at night and early morning but also roasting hot during the day which didnt help matters. Super Holiday.

Details of your catches:

landed 24 carp..mainly low 20's..bigger commons where a 26.4lb, 29.6lb, 32,6lband the biggest in the lake at 36,5 lb.the bigger mirrors where 39 lb, 47,5 lb..( cuttail)..and a 48,5 lb leather.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

best tactics where snowman presentations..15mm bottom and a 15mm pop-up.both Questbaits Smokey fish and Rahja spice worked well.stalking them in the shallows during daytime work very well..( the 39 lb and hte big common both from that end.)

Mirror 47.4 plus several commons in low doubles

Single 18mm boilies with a few freebies.Any pellets or other baits just attracted attention from koi,crayfish or terrapins.

General Comments:

Water temperatures were very high which slowed fishing but the fish caught were all in good condition.I'm not convinced this is a hard venue,more that the fish stocks are somewhat below what is claimed.Very few fish to be seen,even in good spotting conditions.
The presence of koi to Lotus Lake is a pity.They belong in a garden pond rather than a fshing venue in my opinion.
Facilities pretty good.Very peaceful venue and a stunning location.Great for a family holiday,which is what I was doing,but not a venue that would tempt me for 7 days solid fishing.
