General Comments:

A fantastic lake, with a great head of big fish.
Makes a nice change from the normal circuit waters, and the catch report speaks volumes..... 14 x 30's (average 37lb) and 4 x 40's in 5 days fishing. Topped off with a stunning Common at 47.8lb!
The Owners could not have been more welcoming, I have to say one of the best trips in France I've had, thanks John and the Family.

Details of your catches:

One forty, 20 thirties and one twenty as follows, 32-14, 34-01, 39-o4, 34-08, 31-08, 33-14, 37-09, 27-10, 36-14, 31-07, 35-11, 38-08, 33-14, 33-03, 35-13, 37-00, 41-12, 34-14, 38-09, 37-03, 34-14, 30-11. All the fish were caught over heavy beds of bait consiting of partiblend, hemp, carp pellet and assorted sizes in fresh Quest baits Chilli-chocolate boilies.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I found firm hard patches on the lake bed in varying depths of water from 7 foot down to 3 foot. Using the rowing boat at the lake along with spod rod , I built up my swim over the week and fished with an assortment of Quest Chilli-Chocolate 10mil, 15mil, and twenty mil boilies, both bottom and pop up baits

Were the facilities what you expected?

The shower block is excellent, however the caravan on site is not meant to be used for accomodation as it is only meant to be a fishing retreat.

Were you happy with them?

The venue is excellent and well maintained with large grassed area around all of the lake as well as vehicular access.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

One hundred percent yes

General Comments:

Brilliant. This is truly a big fish water with the average weight of the fish being in the mid thirties. I had to work hard to get the result that I achieved continually changing hooklengths and baits to overcome some of the problems that I encountered. The week started off with high temperatures and high pressure and it was not until Monday that the carp started to feed. By Thursday I began to encounter problems with crayfish which reduced my catch rate.
The owners, Mark and John, have made this venue into a first class fishery and aim to make it one of the top big fish waters in the area, and I would say that they are well on their way to produce their dreams.
As we left the venue they were already making an assault on the crayfish and I am sure will greatly reduce their numbers to near irradication. This venue is definitely on my list of lakes to revisit in the near future.
