61 fish. 16 x 20s up to 29.5lbs, rest averaging 18lbs. We fished 5 days (no nights). Fish were heavily spawning, but it didn't seem to curb their appetite, but vast bait didn't seem necessary

Baitboat worked best, pellet, hemp and rahja spice boilies. Different rigs had little effect of catch rate

Facilities were definitely better than expected. Super clean and great attention to detail.

General Comments:

Alice and her mother were there to greet us upon arrival. Very friendly indeed. Overall excellent quality service and would certainly return again in the future. we visited a local market in St Aout which was a good change of scene for non anglers during the week.

Details of your catches:

Lots of good quality hard fighting carp, but due to heavy rain of preceding weeks they only really responded to baited areas or the method. Most fish in mid to high 20s with several 30s coming out as well. Also found float fishing for roach produced some quality specimens.

Bait boat and method best tactics by far but this may be down to weather as in previous years a more conventional approach produced good fish.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes very pleased and hosts were very friendly and available if needed but would leave you alone to get on with fishing which is exactly the way it should be.

Great venue and lovely fish so long as overall size isn't your main priority but this is clearly stated on website so no complaints from us at all.

Ok facilities. Could use a barrow to carry equipment to swims. But such a lovely setting makes up for the more basic but perfectly ok facilities

General Comments:

Good helpful service. Only disappointment was although described as runs water fish proved tricky to catch and were not biting much at all after all attempts!

Details of your catches:

Over sixty fish 2 fish over thirty the rest mid to upper twenties. Plenty of roach and Rudd on the float rod for my youngest son. Some of the roach where nearly 2 lb !!!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Most fish from far bank via bait boat. Fished early to mid day and then late afternoon to dusk. Used mainline cell 18mm snowman stile. Large hooks size 4 - 6 with crushed barbs (they don't move about in the mouth as much as barbless ie no mouth damage. Safest rig set up helicopter style). Very lively fish on the bank so a good unhooking mat / cradle is a must and two landing nets.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The lake has easy access and comfortable places to pith up your bivvy. I was using a bait boat so set up at the end of the tree lined bank just along from the lake side cabin. Toilet / shower block clean and tidy with everything you would expect. The pool was a god send as most of the days that we stayed the temperature was in the thirtys. Loved by all the family. This was clean and ideal to cool of once it got to hot fish I Stayed in the cottage and it's classic French shabby chic and gorgeous, everything you need is there but no English TV, a good way to get away from the TV soaps. The pictures on the site just don't do it justice.

General Comments:

The farm family where very welcoming and let you get on with your stay. No daily check up just a chilled and relaxed atmosphere . The hole family had a great time and I would highly recommend this venue to any budding fishermen, there's no monsters but it's a lot of fun.
