Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

15mm Essential cell snowman rigs with home made pop ups. All fish caught from far margin between the two willow trees. Bait boat was vital. Only 2 fish caught from any other areas.

Fish spawning on the Friday but sempt to mean a run of 20s with 9 in a row up to the biggest of the week. First half of week slow with temps up to 40 degrees so night better during this weather. When weather cooled the fishing in the day improved.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes they are lovely and better than expected. The pool was great for the kids in the boiling weather and the gite and lodge clean and very nice. They lake itself is beautiful if not a little bigger than expected. The owners were very friendly and helpful throughout.

Were you happy with them?

Yes exactly what was needed apart from maybe a fan for hot nights.

Yes as long as happy with nothing over high 20s but plenty of runs.

Yes, everything ran smoothly and was well organised.

General Comments:

The whole family had a great time and although we wasn't looking forward to the long drive the venue was well worth it. The fish are all in great condition and plenty of bites made for a lot of fun. Alice, her mum and family made the perfect hosts ,leaving us to enjoy the holiday but also being there if and when needed. 10/10

Details of your catches:

61 fish. 16 x 20s up to 29.5lbs, rest averaging 18lbs.

We fished 5 days (no nights). Fish were heavily spawning, but it didn't seem to curb their appetite, but vast bait didn't seem necessary

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Baitboat worked best, pellet, hemp and rahja spice boilies. Different rigs had little effect of catch rate

Facilities were definitely better than expected. Super clean and great attention to detail.

General Comments:

Alice and her mother were there to greet us upon arrival. Very friendly indeed. Overall excellent quality service and would certainly return again in the future. we visited a local market in St Aout which was a good change of scene for non anglers during the week.

Details of your catches:

Lots of good quality hard fighting carp, but due to heavy rain of preceding weeks they only really responded to baited areas or the method. Most fish in mid to high 20s with several 30s coming out as well. Also found float fishing for roach produced some quality specimens.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Bait boat and method best tactics by far but this may be down to weather as in previous years a more conventional approach produced good fish.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes very pleased and hosts were very friendly and available if needed but would leave you alone to get on with fishing which is exactly the way it should be.

Great venue and lovely fish so long as overall size isn't your main priority but this is clearly stated on website so no complaints from us at all.

Ok facilities. Could use a barrow to carry equipment to swims. But such a lovely setting makes up for the more basic but perfectly ok facilities

Good helpful service. Only disappointment was although described as runs water fish proved tricky to catch and were not biting much at all after all attempts!
