An Interview with Deux Iles Owner Bruno Simond , 10th Aug

During his recent trip to Deux Iles, our field tester Mike Linstead took the opportunity to find out a little more about the lakes owner, Bruno Simond and his fascinating journey towards setting up his exciting lake.

'At 23 Bruno Simond is one of the youngest lake owners in France. As a dedicated carp angler from a young age he has committed a huge amount of time and effort into developing his skills as both an angler and fishery manager.

I had the pleasure of spending some time on the bank with Bruno, to delve under the surface of his journey and find out what led him to create one of the most promising exclusive-booking carp lakes in the country.'

Deux Iles report to 16 july, 16th Jul

Saturday 16 july was incredibly hot with 31°, Only one cabin was booked this week with Jacqui and Ivor. The first night was nice for Jacqui with a beautiful miroir at 41.8lb. On Wednesday, the fishes started spawning in the oppisite side of the lake.

They caught 10 fish in total during the week :

1 x 40lb / 2 x 30lb / 4 x 20lb and 3 x double.

They have already booked another trip next years with more friends. I'm looking forward to see you again! Thank you!

Deux Iles to 9 july, 9th Jul

Ronald and Barry arrived on Saturday and they had a wonderful weather all week long. After doing some pre-baiting around 6pm they decided to start to fish on Sunday and they caught the first one in the early hours of Monday morning.

Barry and Ronald caught 16 carps in total - although they did only fish for 4 days:

1 x 40lb / 1 x 30lb / 7 x 20lb and 7 x double

I had a really great time with you guys, I look forward to see you again and I will take care of the wine this time ;)

Deux Iles report to 18 june, 18th Jun

A great week again at Deux îles with 4 really nice guys. After a quick walk around the lake we used a draw to determine which group will be on each island.

Lee and Peter choose first and started to set up on the right island and discussed the best spots to fish.

The week was not really fair. Indeed Lee caught 20 carps while the three other anglers caught only 4 in total! It seems that all the fish were in the same area.

Lee : 1 x 44lb / 5 x 30lb / 9 x 20lb and 5 teens 13lb-18lb
Peter : sun, feed my carp but he didn't damage them.. :D
Alan : 1 x 16lb common
Dean : 3 x 12 to 28lb

Total : 24 carps

We had a lot of fun this week and I suggest to all the groups who have walkie talkie to bring them to Deux îles as they did this week!
