General Comments:
Love this place, difficult week, but that is fishing, to catch 2 over 40lb was an absolute bonus.
As always and frequently stated in the feedback for Deux Iles, Bruno is so helpful and always available to offer advice should you want it

Details of your catches:
This was our second year at Deux Iles and a lot slower than previously. Bruno did tell us that the lake had been slow, but what the heck, we were on holiday! Cabin 1, my buddy Kevin and I had 6 runs with 4 fish landed to 33:04 during the week. Kevin, my fishing buddy, also had a beautiful ghost carp of 29:06, but because this came in the thickest fog you have ever seen, we couldn't photograph it! Cabin 2 only had a single carp of 12:00 from the main lake, but several to mid-doubles from the stock pond.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
CCMoore boilies were the bait of choice, with Live System being our favourite. 18mm glugged hardened bottom baits did the trick for us. We found the margins to be the most productive, although the crayfish did have a go at our baits when in the shallower water! There was a little silk/blanket weed growth, but nothing that couldn't be overcome. Certainly, nothing like some of the UK gravel pits! It's just typical that we seemed to get the fish feeding towards the latter part of the week...if only we could have stayed another 7 days!
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes. The cabins were clean and well presented, as per our previous visit, with a fridge. The kitchen was also clean and had a microwave and a couple of freezers; one for bait. We cooked on our Coleman stoves, so didn't feel the lack of a cooker to be anything to worry about! The shower/toilet is a godsend and with plenty of hot water on tap. Bruno also has a small bait store on site, stocked with CCMoore products. I would suggest, however, that if you do want to buy extra bait, go into the tackle shop behind the town hall in Pacy-sur-eure - he does CCMoore and Northern Baits at a reasonable price.
Were you happy with them?
The cabins make this venue. We arrived early on our start day and I spoke with the occupants of Cabin 2 - their first time. They, like us, really appreciated being able to sleep on a real bed and have the use of a fridge, lighting and Wi-Fi if you felt like it! Of our group of four, we all appreciate the cabins and this is one of the reasons why we are already booked for 2019 and looking for a date in 2020!
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Definitiely. Bruno has a great setup in Deux iles. It's quiet, secure and has everything a holidaying angler wants. It may not be for the roughty tufty angler, but that wasn't what we were looking for. Deux Iles is only 6-7 minutes drive from Pacy-sur-eure, a lovely French market town (Thursdays, BTW) and the amenities you would expect.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Definietely. Angling Lines make it easy to find a venue and book it. On the one occasion I have spoken with the office, I had a really helpful conversation with a pleasant woman and my issue was resolved in minutes.
General Comments:
Bruno Simond has a really great venue in Deux Iles. The main lake is not easy...see previous reports, but if you take the time and think about the water, it will pay you. There is a stock pond with fish up to 25lb that you can fish if you are struggling and you can also fish the River Eure if that rings your bell.

Details of your catches:
Well where do I start. Last week I tried everything four different baits, zigs pop ups fake corn all with the same result nothing. I have been fishing in France for years and never blanked this was the worst lake I have ever fished. Crayfish are a problem and in years to come there will be a problem with weed good luck to anybody who fishes it. It definitely won’t be me
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
There were no good tactics, baits or anything
Were the facilities what you expected?
The facilities were ok but really expected a cooker only a microwave and toaster were there
Were you happy with them?
Sheds for sleeping excellent
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
No
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
The accommodation very good
General Comments:
First time I’ve blanked, lots of money spent on bait etc for nothing.
*Owner's Note* I fully appreciate the first week of October was very, very slow. The customer did hook a few carp, but they were lost. The crayfish are still present in the lake, but I do my best to remove them with traps. I have also ordered some black bass from a local fish farmer because they eat the crayfish. For the last month we have had only a few anglers that have experienced hookbaits that have been nibbled.’
