Details of your catches:

82 carp caught, biggest 47.5lb. Multiple 40’s and lots of high 30’s. 42 grass carp (32lb biggest) 29 mirror (biggest 47.5lb) 8 common (biggest 36lb) 2 leather (biggest 40.5lb) 1 koi (12.5lb) Also 3 bream, 1 zander and numerous small cats caught. Just 2 anglers fishing with 2 rods each, fished mornings and a few hours in the afternoon/evenings. We lost one days fishing when we had bad weather (heavy rain). Second trip to the lake and learnt a lot from first trip, making the fishing prolific.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Keep it simple! You don’t need loads of bait, just a few boilies each cast is enough to bait up. If you put lots of bait out you will catch more Grass carp. You absolutely do not need a bait boat on this lake, you can cast it anywhere from the island on the left to the right side aerator and be on the fish. We Fished fairly close to the margins where possible but if you don’t cast it that far you will also catch. Keep the hooks sharp and the rigs fresh, the fish have stronger mouths than the UK. You don’t need more than 2 rods each, it just becomes a problem when you get multiple takes. We fished 1 rod each for a lot of the time. Almost all the fish were caught on a single Krill boilie. We mostly used Ronnie rigs size 4 or 6 hook.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, our second trip and as before was great for us.

General Comments:

We had an amazing trip. Great fishing throughout nice weather on all but 1 day. We were able to watch lots of the Euro footy tournament between fishing. Listen to Gilles, he knows the lake well and is very knowledgeable and happy to help. We treated this as more of a ‘holiday with fishing’ and it was very enjoyable. We will be back in the search for the 50lb+ fish!

Details of your catches:

54 fish caught in total weighing 1,300lb on 3 rods (1 rod each) fishing for 4 hours in the mornings and 4 hours in the evenings (not including bream and catfish). 28 grass carp biggest was 32lb 15 mirror carp biggest was 42lb 11 common carp biggest was 28lb I took 6 rods with a plan to fish 2 rods each (myself and my 2 sons) but the fishing was that prolific it would have been impossible to deal with so may double hook ups. On too many occasions I had the line ripped from my fingers while setting the bobbins.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Fishing to the far margins tight under the trees and bushes (bait boat) at around 18 wraps. 15 feet to the left of the pontoon where the air pump is (16 wraps) use a bait boat or spomb. Wafters I found best ... the grass carp are attracted to tiger nuts and smaller baits with the commons really only caught on 22mm shrimp match the hatch wafters. The mirrors where mostly caught on small pink shrimp wafters. I tried bottom baits and pop ups and it was slow. For rigs I used helicopter rigs with 3 or 4 oz leads, size 4 or 6 micro barbed hooks ... no need to drop the lead there is zero weed.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Facilities were amazing. The house the setting and surround areas are so picturesque ... like a post card !!! The Wifi was a little off and on but honestly we didn't care too much ... the isolation from the outside world was wonderful!

Were you happy with them?

Totally happy with the facilities and Sharon and Gilles are perfect hosts. They are there for advice, support if you need them and they will leave you alone in peace and tranquility if you don't. They each checked in on us once during our week which was the perfect balance for us. Listen to Gilles he knows his lakes and will put you on the right spots and bait. Sharon will point you in the right direction for things to do in the local area and looks after everything with the house. They are a great team.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes ... already told my brother who wants to know more

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

I would however it would be good to provide alternative travel routes (flying to Bergerac as an alternative to the ferry). *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback, we're so pleased you loved the venue. Unfortunately we cannot offer to arrange flights at this time but customers are welcome to book their own and we can book you onto the lake without a channel crossing.

Details of your catches:

We had a mix of common, grass, mirror and koi carp. Teens x 9 Twenties x 22 Thirties x 13 Fourties x 1 (47lb 1oz)

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Sticky 20ml boilies (bottom baits)

Were the facilities what you expected?

Great facilities. Gilles and Sharon very helpful. If you struggle at all with the fishing don't hesitate to ask Gilles for advice - he will put you on the fish. Once you have the tactics right there really is no need to fish more than 1 or 2 rods. The fishing is full throttle!
