Details of your catches:

Nothing of note. I was fishing only occasional days & evenings - this was a holiday with friends. But the fish are definitely here.

General Comments:

Even though we didn't get the best from the fishing we had an absolutely fabulous time. This is a teriffic spot - just walking round the lake of an evening was a real delight. You don't need to be a fisherman to enjoy a holiday here. We thoroughly recommend Mas Bas to anyone.

Details of your catches:

We set up at 5.30 pm fishing on the Lotus Lake1 - common 6lbs 6oz at 7.30pm 2 - mirror 39lbs 2oz at 1.20am 3 - mirror 29lbs 7oz at 5.45am 4 - common 19lbs 8oz at 1 pm 5 - common 5lbs 5oz at 3pm 6 - mirror 44lbs 5oz at 7pm 7 - common 11lbs 9oz at 10pm 8 - mirror 30lbs 8oz at 1pm. We then called it a day - a fantastic couple of days fishing!!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We fished close up to the lotus margin and out to the edges. We had a hook no 2 and a 120 gramme weight on a 20cm Fox Insider rig.We used several sorts of boilies - New Remedy, a floating peach and mandarin, spicy chicken however proved and excellant bait along.

General Comments:

This is a very pretty quiet spot, with lots of big carp. Patience and good tactics are required.

Details of your catches:

26lb 8oz common carp on the second night & 17lb mirror caught on the last night of stay. 6 or 7 other big ones lost to snags & inferior tackle (15lb line and size 4 hooks not large enough).

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Fish at night on Lotus Lake - no bites during the day at all. Main Lake seemed to fish well during the day. Snowman baits work best as lakes are silty. Fishing margins & close to pads will give results.

Were the facilities what you expected?

As expected.

Were you happy with them?

Views were amazing and tranquility superb.

General Comments:

Giles & Lesley are great hosts, helpful & informative. The accommodation is basic but clean & comfortable. The fishing isn't easy but worthwhile. My PB was much improved (26lb 8oz common) and worth the sleepless nights. The surroundings will take your breath away.
