We both had pbs of 32.5 Mirror (main) and 42 Mirror (lotus). Other fish included a 34 common (lotus) and 24.5 common (main) then mirrors of 16,18,22.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

All fish caught at night, on squid based boilies. Groundbait used sparingly. Fishing tight to lilies in both lakes paid off.

Yes, although layout of downstairs in Lotus cottage could be better.

General Comments:

Not an easy water which needs work. Two other anglers on the main lake blanked all week, not really sure why? However we stuck at our tactics and it paid off.

Not entirely, we feel we were mis-sold the accommodation we stayed in as it was pretty mish mash. The eating area was downstairs with the relaxing area upstairs, but the stairs were on the outside.

The people had dogs in the main house that were always running up to our children and fouling in different places.

Tried just about everything. The fish were held up in large beds of lillies far way from the accommodation during the day and came out at night but were not taking bait.

General Comments:

This is a lovely venue, the accommodation is great and the owners very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I felt sorry for Gilles because he tried so hard to help me and others catch and took it badly when we didn't. This is a hard water and it only fishes at night, two things that Angling lines did not warn me about. On the main lake the fish appear to like to hold up at one end far away from the accommodation and in thick beds of lillies and on lotus lake they stay deep in some of the largest and thickest jungles of lillies I have ever seen. Neither lake was fishing well when we got there and there had been no rain for 3 months. Gilles says that when hooked the fish fight hard and strong tackle with large hooks are required. 15lb main line he considered risky. Would I recommend this venue? Yes I would but only to someone who was an experienced angler who understood that this was bivvy up, night fishing on a hard water. Would I recommend Angling Lines Services? Yes but with caution. They are still finding out about some of these waters so you may have to do some research of your own. As a final note I wouldn't rule this place out just for an ordinary none fishing holiday. The lakes, accommodation and the surrounding area are all beautiful and very relaxing. Oh and something else not in the brochure. Gilles can hire you some odds bits of gear like a bed chair or rod pod if you need it.
